I'll toss one up. Polar Express (northern lights crossed with an auto from auto seeds) grown with a single cfl for at least half its life before going under a T5 2 foot 2 lamp 4000 lumen also with 3 35 watt cfls. Its only four grams due to the lack of light and no nutrients. The pictures I have are all blurry and I havent been able to take a better one so here is a blurry picture of a little bit of fluffy bud: IMAG0010.jpg

This was my first grow and it is not an accurate example of bud from florescent lights. Please do not think of this as an average florescent grow its far below that.

PAR T5 grow... I think it came out real good for my second grow ever, but it was fluffier than I'd have liked. Still, came out nice, all things considered... plenty of potency... going to be doing another run with more T5 bulbs (half of them added as side lighting) and with certain genetics rather than bag seed... we'll see what happens...

It's a shame some have to be so closed minded about a wonderful product. T-5's in 6000k blue and the 2-3k red spectrums grow EVERYTHING!, not just cannabis! Altar lovely ladies sir! I know for a fact that those t-5's are the bomb!
Thanks man.

More pics here: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/518484-par-t5s-bagseed-ffof-me-4.html#post7309387 (My canopy was shite, but that wasn't the T5's fault, these plants vegged too long under too-few-cfl's in cramped conditions before they moved to the T5s)

Close minded? It's jsut fact..hell..the two grows shown so far were NOT done with t5's alone. You need like 3x the space and lights that equals a HID, LED or even CFL.

The fact is unless you want a CLOSET FULL OF T5's you're going to get...MAYBE...MAYBE a half oz per plant.

Watt to watt a HO T5 has more PAR and lumens than a CFL.
Nice buds AltarNation, proof that it can bee done under T5. Just the type of pics I was looking for.

324w T5 3000k. Bagseed.

16.9g dryed. Picked, probably 7-10 days early. Buzz is mild and unfortunately short lasting. Not much flavor either. Lot of problems early...overwatering, deficiencies, poor potting soil (MG), newbie grower...

Image1.jpg100_2097.jpg100_2101.jpg100_2109.jpg

Total yield over 4 2ft. plants, ~39.7g, plus about 5g of seed for future use.

Re-vegging the two healthiest of the 4 yielded about 25g. better bud, but still not right.

Tryin' again with new seedlings, FF Ocean Forest and Happy Frog 50/50 mix, lower temps, and a bit more experience.

I think you have HO t5's and regular florescent bulbs confused there killer. I have a 48" 4 bulb fixture that has been MORE than enough to grow anything I have put under it. Matter of fact I usually can only run two bulbs. I haven't used it for cannabis but it has powered a reef, dart vivs and now a planted tank all packed to the brim with plants / coral.

Yep I am into reef keeping as well and seeing what T5 can do to grow outstanding corals I figured it would be great for buds as well. My plan is to run 1 24" 4 bulb fixture and 1 36" 4 bulb fixture with a mix of 6500k, 3000k, 420nm actinic and 660nm bulbs. I run 2 250W MH lights over my reef tank and I have a 400 MH/HPS ballast that I was going to use for growing but heat in my closet was a major issue, 95+ very quickly. That was with an open wing reflector and no ventilation though but I have no room for a vent fan and a cool tube.

I have a completed journal (see sign) using a Quantum 8 bulb BB + aquarium bulbs

FYI 420 is not good for mmj

From what I have read 1-2 actinic 420nm bulbs do very well in veg and flower. Plus lighting in the blue spectrum is supposed to increase THC production in the plants, read that in Ed R. grow book.

No I would not run all 420 actinic bulbs just 1 in each fixture along with 6500K, 3000K, Flora Sun and some 600nm bulbs.

I just ordered my second light for my grow setup. 36" 4 bulb T5 HO with built in timer. That will put my veg and flower light at 297 watts of T5 lighting. I will be getting some different bulbs from the aquarium hobby for flowering for the best (hopefully) results.

This is my very first grow and I used 432 watts of T5's only in 5 gal airpots. My friend that has grow for a few years looked at them yesterday and told me they are rock hard bud's and very sticky and he thought 12 to 15 ounces cured. It's day 54 and they're showing some amber so it's 48 hours of dark after lights out tonight and Wednesday night chop.
