thanks much LIG. your plant looks pretty good as well. is the purple cause of the strain or a copper/molybdenum def?? also read somehwere that cold temps at night during flowering will cause leaves to turn purple. it looks awesome!!! but something i would check into... and what lighting are you using?

My temps are high 84, low 71. SHe sits under a 400w hps and 3 68w 2700k cfl's. And I'm not real sure about the purpleling of the leaves, but she seems happy and smelly!

I've also read that if the genetics of the plant permit (mostly indicas and indica hybrids), and with cooler nighttime temperatures, the plant will show its purple genes :) It's lovely to see all the different shades of purple as well, there are so many!

she does look quite gorgeous, no doubt!! i was just looking through my reference pages and saw a few things that might cause that. of course, it could always be the strain. personally, i love the look of plants with the purple leaves. beautiful. great lighting also. 1 tip, when those budsites start to get higher than the rest, tie everything down to the same height so you can keep your light as close as possible to all tops, instead of the couple higher ones!!

THis is my Pineapple Express, it was my very first LST. She was under 300watts of HPS and 100watts of floro's. I got 3.75 ounces off of her.

she looks good so far, and im sure you will be happy withthe results as long as you keep her healthy.

great job bro! i was planning on ordering some PE for my next grow, that and/or Super Lemon Haze. looks like that PE is a great yielder!!

looks like some dankums, i say at least 3 ozs.

id wait 1 one week then strat flush. she sure is lookin purrty.

colors also come out when they have certain nute def. like i have had N def, and the leafs after turning yellow started to purp. its like fall. all the colors start to change cuz its the end of the season.
and harvest is all up to the grower letting it go longer will give more a couch lock with mostly amber trivhs haveing some clear and most cloudy are more head highs, it depends on what the grower really wants.
oh and also i really dont agree with the lights off for 1-3 says, outdoor buds are as dank as can be with no dark periods like that. with growing you want to try to replicate nature as close as possible, just my opinion.

i hope its around 3 oz lol. good call on the dark period. i agree with keeping everything as close as possible to they way that it would be in nature. only difference should be the amount of resin collected on the buds that would not be there if they were continuously getting rained on. not to say you shouldnt flush the soil at least once every 2 weeks to emulate rainfall

o Purp, it wont let me rep you, i dont get around riu enough to spread anything lol

SOMEBODY REP MCPURP FOR ME!!!!

much love LSTerzzzzz

i always wish for the best and expect the worst but i think 3 ozs is a good guestimate. and i actually only flush once 2 weeks before harvest then it is just water when it needs it till harvest. but my feed schedule is also feed and then just plan water and then feed and then plain water and so on. so it gets plain water in between feeds. around here we dont get rain fall in the summer and if we do it is like a few centimeters if that till croptober comes then we get a lil more rainfall. and dont worry about the rep, i got lots and rep isnt really why im on RIU although it does make me feel good about helping others when ever possible.

Thanks to all for making this thread to be what it is today. with out all you it wold not be so informational.

Let the flushing begin. Whiteberry topped and LST, almost 7 weeks into flowering.

looks cool, its a home made hydro system one thig though if you have no airstone in theri than you shoul change the water every day to keep the oxygen up and prevent any type of rot and like the other guy said black it out so theri is no light to the roots.

I will def black it out. its like a soil hydro thing. And yes I do change the water daily. reason for no airstone as it would create pressure and force the soil to be wet all the time.i might poke a whole near the top of the bottom container to allow the air out. good idea.

thanks guys

An update on my LST'd auto's. It doesn't appear that it had any effect on the plant's production. IMG_5694.jpgIMG_5693.jpgIMG_6011.jpgIMG_6041.jpg

It's been very beneficial for my Kush, as it helped keep the branches below my balcony railing.

Yeah, I think it was Outdoorindica who mentioned the benefits of LST and autos. (Hey Outdoorindica, I'm not calling you out or anything - I think I've seen pics of autos that benefitted from LST'ing). I'm sure it can help, but not with these particular strains, and/or not outdoors. They are coming out with autos that have a longer lifespan now, so some of those may benefit (Iranian auto comes to mind). In any event, I'm glad I tried it and may try it again with another auto.

Perhaps one benefit of the LST done on these autos is that it makes the bottom half of the plant more accessible. I can inspect for bugs and remove them easier with it being "offset" from the top 1/2.
