I have a question for the LST folks. I noticed last night that the underside of my canopy has lots of small suckers (really tiny branches) that I know aren't going to produce much if anything at all. Is there any good or bad in taking that crap out? It is too late -- I am going into my 3rd week of 12/12. It seems if I could do that , I would allow more light to hit the lower areas of the larger branches.I have searched here and there for answers, but the opinions are quite different (as they are for everything).

I have already thinned out yellowing and dead/dying leaves.

Thanks!

Only got one shot in before the camera died, but here's my two AK-48's about 3-4 weeks into 12/12. I had three, but took down the smallest one and spread the two remaining ones out as much as possible.

If your using cfls then i would trim them, but i don't think it reallys matters with hid.

i grow with cfls and and when the buds start to form i trim the lower fan leaves and tie down the side branches to let more light in, my next grow i want to cut out the smaller branches tom let more light hit the sides of less colas (but bigger), but i grow with cfl's down all sides (not a traditional lst)

Then the LST began.

Thanks, I wasn't sure. I have a 600 watt HPS, so I will leave them.

Recharged the camera. Few more from today:

P.S. - Top every branch the day you flip to 12/12. You won't regret it!!!
Nice job! It's photos like these that have conviced me to go with fewer plants in my next grow, and just let them get bigger. I might try your topping suggestion as well, but I always thought that plants were most susceptible to hermies at the early stage of 12/12 and any extra stress my screw them up. Not so?

this is at about 3-1/2 weeks at 12/12. Things are looking more and more impressive every day.
I am definitely doing fewer plants next time.

Week 6 of my plants.

3 weeks germ/seedling under 40w T12 6500K.
Week 5 of veg (8 weeks all day).
200+ watts of 6500k to 2700k (mainly above 5000k).
I started to FIM and LST when the 4th and 5th true leaves started to form. I also bend them to keep them growing in the right direction.
There are 3 plants in each 3 gallon planter. (For space reasons, this is how i do it and it works our just fine)
The other plant is the runt. I have only FIMed it and will be using it for cloning experiments.[/QUOTe
Nice pic's m8 so you leave the 3 plants in the one pot all the way thru till harvest.

Nice! They all look they've been giving alot of TLC. Those purple buds are bad ass. Don't you have to drop the temps at night to get the most color out em like that? Whats your low temp at night?
Rep back to you, nice work.
