Should this plant look like this?

This plant is a little over a month old and is about 6 inches tall. A little under 5 inches is where the first set of leaves start. I got the seeds from some mids, threw them into some dirt, watered it and here it is. Almost a week ago I watered it with some water mixed with MG, is it too soon for that?

Looks to me like it could be a keeper. It's not growing gangbusters but appears healthy. Give it good warmth and light. Read a lot of faqs and growing posts. Best of luck.

Looks like you expereinced a growth stunt. Your tips seemed singed a little. Did you startf feeding it before you got the true leaves by any chance?

The first two leaves are not pointed and are called cotelydons. The second set of leaves will be a set of "true" leaves and this will be your first "node".

Ahhhh, yea the cotelydons died, so I picked them off, also the first set of true leaves died as well. But no I only watered it with the MG once and that was after I got my true leaves.

Looks like more light wouldn't hurt, in fact, when you repot it, try and bury some of that stem.
There is a sticky either in the newbie or general section on doing that.

Well I've added more light, not as much as it needs, but more than what it got and the plant is still growing. It's on its 6th layer of leaves, and leaves are growing from the stem. So i'm just going to see what happens. Also another pot has three in a triangle so, I have three back ups.

i had a similar problem with a plant once. i ended up cutting off the top and cloning it. the clone took off and grew like any other plant.

What type of lights do you have? 2x 23w cfl's would be more than enough to keep the plant happy for a few weeks while you get some more supplys.

You must have your lights too far away from the plant.

It's stretching towards the light. Depending on heat I'd stick the light 2-3 inches away from the top. Get some CFLs right on it, the light you're using might not be a usable type of light for the plant, which is why it's taking so long to grow. It needs the right kind of light.

Go to the indoor growing area and read tons of threads!

I am using cfls, I still need more though since I only have 3 23w cfl's, and I have another pot with 3 seedlings about a week old. What should I get to put the lights in, because I don't think desk lamps do the job. This is the plant now, and if you look good enough on the set of 3 leaves on the left, you can see an extra leaf growing from the 3, this isn't happening to any other set of leaves, could anyone tell me what this is?
