Should the stem be white?

Should a newly sprouted plant have a whitish stem always thought it'll be green does it have a problem or will it be ok? Thanks
New born seeds need to "harden off" this is padt of the process, looks like youve got yourself a healthy seedling. If the helmet doesnt fall off by tomorrow id drop a little water on it then peel it away but thats just me. Others will let them fall natural.

I've tried that soak and peel method and almost everytime lost the seed cause the cotes got ripped off. My favorite way to deal with helmets is to bury the plant again.

Huh, works just fine for me, let the seed absorb the water for a couple mins usually they slide right off for me. Im also pretty gentle when i do it, never lost one this way.

Yeah, its supposed to work. course I've had experience starting 50+ seeds multiple times with the same seeds (I started with 650+ seeds), and the seeds Ive been working with sometimes has helmets that need to be sprayed repeatedly for couple days before they'll soften. So I just bury em as soon as I see the seedcase poking out of my medium. Haven't lost a single seedling to being buried either.

Did you rip the helmet off? That's likely why you have one coteyldon. Just means it'll be hungry sooner and need ever so slightly more trace minerals.
