That depends on how tall you want it to get. How bushy, etc. If height isn't a problem... let it go natural.

It needs to stay under 4'5"

I would say you need to lightly top them now to stay at your desired height.

Just remember that toppin' ain't for sissies.

LST instead of topping

Definitely top, especially with hight restrictions. I top every 10 days or so all through out veg indoors and out. I couldn't keep my plants under 4' even if I tried

Lst?

LST - Means Low-Stress Training, the technique of manipulating the branches in order
to reduce plant height, expose certain branches to light, and/or distribute hormones to
lower branches of the plant to encourage larger buds.
I case there are other terms, vocabulary, slang or acronyms you don't know there is a thread for most if not all of them in this section under vocabulary/slang terms for future references.

Low Stress Training a bending and tying down method. research and maybe next grow go with that. Until then happy growing and learn as much as possible and have fun doin it knowledge is power even the best grower in the world can learn something new. Tips and tricks everywhere just gotta learn good!

Google it to get pictures of exactly where to pinch off. You want to pinch off the newest top node that is just starting to open up on the top of the main branches. The first time you will top the 1 and only main branch and it will make 2 new branches come up (occasionally more depending on where you do it, its called FIM), then you top those 2 to make 4, then those 4 to make 8, and so on. The side branches will start to branch out and come up when you do this also, I will top them as well once they become a part of the main canopy.

Ah yes I like to FIM and get those side branches about the same height. Great way to canopy out! like I said so many tricks and tips to learn just Google anything and it will give u very detailed info on how to do it. Never thought about this till now but its a good idea for a beginner, just get a bunch of bag shwag seeds and grow a bunch and experiment different things with different plants. That way u have the chance to learn about all kinds of plants females, males, hermi, sativas, indicas and ruteralis y didn't I do this before would have saved alot of trouble

In my first grow journal there's an image I posted questioning whether this was the right place to top it... as I was unsure about where to top mine. I topped it just above the new sets of leaves that were sprouting and my plant did fine (As 707 said above, "newest top node that is just starting to open up on the top of the main branches". Don't be scared of it, just confident. As 707 said, you can do this and i believe some call it super cropping as it keeps doubling up the amount of branches which ultimately means more bud. I'd second 707's answer and say this is the way to go.. Am a newb myself by the way but with a lot of reading under my belt and a little experience.
