should i top or lollipop

Hi all I've just started a new grow and i was thinking of trying some new techniques. Usualy i jusy let them grow into monsters but i've been reading about other ways to grow but i cant find any informtion about yeild.Has anyone tried both ways and how do they both compare to letting them do there own thing? Thanks.

you have to prune if you want big yields

Not really pruning, thats topping and wont increase yields.

You should be pruning the lower branches, even if they get quite large I take off the lower 1/3 because they just wont get enough light to grow some big buds, trimming them sends all the energy up to make bigger top colas

Would i cut them off whilst in veg ?

can you give me a picture of what you mean? when i look at my plants, on the lower portion i see fan leaves, and for every fan leaf, there is a growth shoot (like the top of the plant). do you mean to trim both the fan leaf and the shoot, or just the shoot? when you say bottom 1/3, what do you mean? (for instance, lets say i have a plant with 12 nodes that is also 21 inches tall, would i trim the bottom 4 nodes, or all nodes on the bottom 7 inches?)

im about to go into flower in about 2 weeks, would it be wise to do this? how much does is usually increase your yields?

Now LISTEN HERE!!! if you want a kick ass plant, here is how i see it ( 6 th years and learning every year) when i put my plants in big 30 gal buckets with some good ocean for. and lava rocks on the bottom for drainage,,, I say ,,, how much AAA bud can that ROOT SYSTEM support,,, the plant will naturally have too much bud,,,BUT,, it will be a ton of tiney buds ,,,some middle sized nugs,,, and a top FATTY PATTY prize bud. you topp the plant from one main to make two mains... i sometimes top again makin 4 mains. now you have a spaced out row of topps,,, but now theres excess follage. you remove about 1/4-1/3 of the brances coming OFF the branches coming OFF the main stem... get it? now your thc is spread amongst even sized kick ass buds, plant to root ratio is key,,,
