Should I switch to HPS??

Need some advice about switching to an HPS from the current set up, which is multiple cfls around 150w total using all blue 65k with 2 red 27k bulbs during veg and opposite for flower I am tired of ending up with a few nice buds and mostly popcorn. Before I had a closet with a 600w HPS and no problems what so ever. Unfortuntly I moved and have only this cabinet for a growing space. The actual growing space is 47 x 56 x 80 cm. I can move the shelf down and get more then a meter vertical grow space. I do have an intake and exhuast fan and the temp stays around 24-27 celcius. If I go hps what size would be ok without making the cabinet too hot. I was thinking which ever size I would have the ballast outside the cabinet. A little help I have about a week before I go 12-12. Thanks

Purpsdro and greenlikemoney thanks for the post. I am still looking thru all the forums to get a better idea. I want to go HPS but I dont want to buy one and then have to sell it later on craigslist or ebay because I couldnt fix the temps down the road.

Can you get away with simply leaving the door open as shown in pics?. I set my 12/12 to run lights on from 8A-8P, and even if I'm not home to close door this time of year doesn't matter...sun sets way before 8PM until April or so. Then when you get up in AM, open door before leaving house.

I like the idea but then what do I do with the odor? I am in an apartment so that is the next big concern.

Here is the new set up, lets see how it turns out. Temps are about the same but I have the light high up. Not sure weather to bring it down or not?

timely: I gave my 150W VM Innovations HPS to a relative for his closet grow....raised ambient temps about 8F with a small 6" fan blowing air out 24/7 ...on the plus side, the dang plant looks strong and bushy as hell...never even seen pics of a weed plant that strong.... I opted for 6x23W CFL's (point blank about 1" away).... I underestimated the total heat of those CFL's.... while not as hot as the HPS, I'd say about 40-60% as much ...and the light is definitely weaker...I'd say about 33% weaker (just going by results) ... my take: go with the 150HPS if you can vent the area; its worth it

I have a lumetek ballast running a 250w right now. It has multiple settings if temps get crazy I will set it on 150 and change the bulb out. Thanks for the input.
