Should I spray water directly on my cuttings?

I ended up doing two cycles with rockwool. I used r/o water and lemon juice as a ph down for the pre soak. I used clonex gel and jellyfish micorhize (sp?) on both cycles. As well on both cycles I left the domes on for 5-6 days straight without airing them out or spraying the dome, slowly opening the vents or removing the domes completely after that. The first time I over watered them and got a success rate of 50 out of 300. I sprayed just the domes and not the cuttings. I left the domes on as long as I could, but I ended up losing a ton of the cuttings to mold and most didnt root and rotted away. The second cycle I used half r/o half tap water with the same gel and beneficials. I shook the r/w almost dry but barely moist to the touch. This time I didnt get rot, but the mold problem was still present. I ended up removing the domes when I saw a bunch of babies had the white film from root growth growing just above the r/w. When the r/w felt dry, we fed them 2 tsp. per gal. GH rapid start in r/o water at a 6.0 ph level. After I hit them with that, alot of them started to die off. I ended up only getting about 10 out of 350 to root. I had enough with the rockwool and decided to try root riot plugs. I am using the same clonex and jellyfish beneficials. What my biggest question is, did I mess up by not removing the domes for fresh air daily? And when I spray the domes, should I also lightly mist the plants as long as I do not mist the medium? I was possibly thinking about hitting them with a foliar spray of rapid start after day 6 or 7 since I heard these cubes do not dry out as fast. Also, I am not using a heating mat, the room we use is running a space heater at certain times of the day. Its well insulated so the temps stay at a constant 78-81. Help would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to risk causing a mold problem by spraying the cuttings directly, but I am going to start removing the domes 4-5 times a day for a breath of fresh air unless that is too much. Thanks for the help my rollitup amigos!

Things like this can be answered with a quick google search.
exactly what I would of done, I'd take the topic of this thread "Should I spray water directly on my cuttings? " and Copy and Paste it into the search engine of google... then I would of simply hit "Enter"

#1- you should use a humidome with cuttings- then you don't need to spray...
#2- Spray if you must- but raise the lights so they do not burn
#3- if spraying, make it worth your while by adding a few drops of cloning solution to the spray ONCE a day... water only the rest.
#4- to avoid rot & mold- you need it to be warmer AND have airflow... in a dome, raise the lid for a few minutes every day for fresh air...if spraying, be sure there is an oscillating fan nearby- but not blowing directly on them.

I tried the exact wording in google before I even typed this thread, but I only get "when should I water my clones" ect and nothing that really helps me with my actual question. Its obvious you water the plugs right before they get dry, that isnt the question I wanted to get answers for. So I thought I would come here and get educated answers from individuals who have had the same problems, or know how to prevent them. Not necessarily get replies like I have recieved right now. It can be difficult trying to figure out a certain problem with the methods only I am using by reading different posts on hundreds of forumsfrom people who are using totally different methods, then trying to piece together something that will maybe answer my problems. Or I can post exactly what I am having problems with, then patiently wait for anyone to come up with a solution to my exact cloning troubles. LadyZandra seems to know what answers I wanted.

spray them down 1 time in the start and dome them, open daily for a few min.

I just cut<dip in water< dip in rooting powder< ram in in to soil< mist and cover. So far 100%, but only did 20.

We have 100% rooting in a week to 10 days...
I pre-soak the cubes/pellets in a Clonex + Rapid Start solution in bottled water (65cents a gallon) for 15-20 minutes + fill the tray to the cloner-dome with the same solution, and the cuttings in cups of this also...

Take cuttings directly into the cup of solution.... let it sit a few minutes...
take the clone from the cutting and dip in Clonex gel and shove it into the wet medium in the cloner....
When the cloning tray is filled- just put on the dome & put it in a warm bright spot (24/0 light) and away they go!

We have used rapid rooters, peat pellets & rockwool (ick- don't like em much)
We use a dome with a 'self-watering" tray (bought separately-- self-watering seed-starter kit at Walmart and the dome from the hydro shop)

I have it on a wire shelf in our hall closet with a 100w cfl in a clamp-light above it, and a lamp with a 60w incandescent under it on another shelf for heat (that closet is cold!)

just took another 20 clones on Saturday--- they are already rooting...
