Depending on what you are planting it in to it may be better to have the root a bit longer. If you're using soil it should be fine. Just make a small dent, place the seed with the root down and sprinkle some soil over it. Not too deep, just covered with soil.

Fast flowering photo's will grow around the same speed 12/12 from seed as an auto.
I had horrible luck with pyramid auto's. like 1/4 from a plant that took months to grow horrible.

Plant it, as others have said. That's the PERFECT time to plant IMO. You can't damage that without trying. If the seed opens up and you can see the root the seed has germinated and is a viable seed, IMO that's the only reason to use a paper towel or a cup of water is for visual confirmation that a seed is viable. I put em in a cup of water till they crack open and then right into dirt that has been watered before I put the seed in, if you water afterwards it will pull your seed deeper and kill it.

To clarify, you just want to water your soil first after it's been watered your seed shouldn't sink if you water again, but the first watering of dry soil is important before putting seeds in. You want the soil to "settle" before putting your seed in, soaking the soil does this.
however, once a seed has been watered one time generally you don't need to water it again until it's above ground unless you live in a really dry space.

Damn, my experience with two different autos was 1.5 grams off one and 5 grams off the other. Autos are a waste of time and space.

Their C99 should be another good strain, both strains should do just fine outdoors if you get enough sun in your region. If you don't get enough sun then auto's work for outdoors, it's what they are meant for, environments without the adequate amount of sun perday/season to finish a photo. Don't waste your time on Auto's inside.

Blue Dream , C99 - probably the closest to what you want, J-1 is supposed to finish in 8 weeks. You can make almost any strain finish in 8 weeks but the thing is you gotta read the plants. I know people who just say okay here is day 1 we chop on day 60 regardless.
C99 is what you want for sure dude.
