so im pretty new to this but from what ive read this is the cheapest way to go when making would be a short path?also ethanol for solvent?

also would it be okay to run a diy chiller?

A heater is needed, not a chiller.

Glass and mantle in the super cheap can be found for under 1000.00. How long it lasts is another story.

Your vacuum pump that's needed can get very costly. Find a used (ebay challenge) alcatel 2021i, leybold trivac, welch 1400 or equivalent, NOT AN ELCHEAPO HARBOR JUNK VAC!, that will NOT work!

Then you need a vacuum gauge. Can be found from 200- thousands$.

Miscellaneous items like vac lines, hose clamps, heater fluid, knowledge Ot to butcher potentially 20k in finished distillate.

The learning process costs more than the actual setup.

Shoot me a dm if you would like more info.

700 mantle
1000 glass
2200 vacuum pump
1000 recirculating heater/chiller
600 vacuum gauge
200 miscellaneous stuff
300 spare glass

$$ for ethanol and trim to make crude oil destined for spd.

On average, 1.5# trim nets me 100g crude oil. I can fraction out 75% of distillate (heads only).

I upgraded my vac pump to an alcatel 2021i. Hoping to run my mains are under 75!

Heres what you want to strive for. Granted this is 1st pass only, but atillntested at 90% thc.

your an actual artist. i want to do this with all my outie trim .

bruh thats a 2k pump lol so im guessing the negative pressure from the pump somehow affects the purity of the distillate?

That's my old backup pump now. Google alcatel 2021i. My new pump, 2k rebuilt (pulls 6 micron blanked off!)

Lower vac = lower bp (boiling point) of said crude.

Means you can get fractioning off at a lower temp, saving your extract from turning from precious thc to cbn (cbn = sleepy time).

What ever you do, dont buy a turn-key setup. Total waste of money.
