short and potent auto flower strains?

ok so I could be interested in doing an auto grow sometime in the future. I did some purple ryders once and they did stay nice and short but the smoke was really weak... are there some strains out there that will stay under say 18 inches but are still decent smoke? I don't smoke a lot so I don't need super kick ass weed... just something with a little more kick than cheap dirt weed... something that tastes good is always a plus...

Both are Kaya.

Hope it goes well, whatever beans you decide on!

Well I really wanted to get some regular auto flower seeds. I don't have anything against fem seeds and most of the photoperiod seeds I buy are fem seeds...

But if I am growing autos I kinda like the idea of being able to sacrifice 1 female to produce more seeds for the next grow...

I ordered some seeds from Flash Seeds
2 packs of Russian Fuel
1 pack of super blueberry haze auto

I am hoping I can harvest the Russian Fuel in July and the Super Blueberry Haze in July or August. Then I can harvest my photoperiod frisian dew in September and October

Mephisto, Bomb Seeds, Delicious Seeds, as well as Fast Buds are all fantastic auto breeders with excellant germ rates. All of them also have strains that grow relatively short, with very high potency. This is the golden age of autoflowering strains, take advantage of it!

Once I have a solid supply of seeds from the strains i have on order. I may try growing a few of these strains from more reputable breeders and try crossing with one of my males... In an effort to get some seeds with better genetics.

I would like to try crossing the blueberry haze auto with maybe the sweet gelato auto from sweet seeds or the northern cheese haze auto from mephisto

I'm currently running a Northern Lights Blue Auto, which is a cross of Northern Lights and Blueberry Auto, it may be worth having a look at. I've never bred my own strains before, but I most definitely enjoy seeing other people do it hahaha.

I don't really want to try breeding my own strain.. but I have read if you breed male and female autos... The seeds will be autos also. So I wanted to try making some seeds so I don't have to buy them all the time.

@wil2279 i'm guessing each of the autos will have 20% Ruderalis in them. The resulting creation will also have the same % Ruderalis, thus ensuring they'll be auto's by default.

I'm not sure how it works with Auto's crossed with Photo's.

Managed to find some SODK @ Marys Seeds. They're getting harder to track down.
Going to chuck 3 of them with my 3 photos. I wonder what sort of negative effect it may have if I keep the Auto's under CFL's for first 2 weeks, then move them between a CMH and the CFL, depending which one is on. (Attempting to give the Auto almost 24 hours of light a day, across a wider spectrum.

Thoughts please?

Mephistogenetics.com has SODK quite often. Also im sure they will turn out fine even when going to less penatrable light such as CFLs. 24 hours will be good for plant no matter the intensity. With CFLs though if not 2-4" from plant and many bulbs such as 26 watters around the plant vs 1-2 200 watters it won't be worth it.

Thank you for your replies.

Basically, I'm going to have an area for clones, one for flowering and one for vegging. If I'm growing Auto's AND Photo's..I'm just thinking that it seems silly to only give the Auto's the same 12 hours of light/dark that the photo's need. I can't move them to the vegging tent and leave them, because CFL light isn't great for flowering.

So, in a nutshell...Switching a plant between HPS, LED and CFL shouldn't have any negative effects such as stress etc? (Assuming humidity and temperature aren't too far out)
