Not really that shocking, but thats probably because the discovery channel shows stuff like that all of the time. Fast pc's, overpopulation, and other countries with kids that make ours look retarded. The thing that shocks me is that our tax returns are done in india

So while i'm a fan of random and useless information some of the stuff seemed like made it merely for the shock value.
However there is one thing that I found confusing. They said that 4 exabytes (4x10^19)of unique information will be recorded this year. If it's information why would they put it in decimal? It just seems unusual and confusing (and notationally wrong, it should be 4x2^60)

computers may be faster, but they don't work even close to relative to our brains.
we can process stuff 10x faster merely because we interpret things differently.
we don't have to convert idea's into other forms just to understand them.
we can understand instantly upon looking that a chair is an object, made of whatever material we can see. a computer will not see this, but see it for it's geometric math and color's and textures specifically applied to it.
there is nothing relative between our brains and computers.
