Sharing First Time Grow

First time grower. I have two plants which were planted a little over two weeks ago. Both are autos, I think cheese candy and one of my dr krippling seeds. I spent a ton of money on my setup... and got lazy when it came to labeling my plants. Honestly, I'm proud of how well I'm doing for a first grow, but I readily admit I completely fucked up by not labeling my damn plants. I used bonzaseeds, I'll talk about them at the end; my tldr of bonza is they're "fine".

  • Platinum p150 on veg. Started at 10" away from the top of the plants... have moved it to 15".
  • Fox Farms Ocean Forest + 20% perlite
  • I overpotted straight into a five gallon. Been watering every 3-4 days, 1/2gal each. Trying to pH around 6.5; I say try because fuck ph pens.
  • Adding tiny (less than 30% strength): Oilycann (Cal & Mag), Superthrive (maybe not again), and Fasilitor to every other watering. Tap water is 250 ppm before any nutes.
  • Grow tent, 2x2.5 Gorilla Shorty. I purchased a 4" Phresh carbon filter, TD-100XS Soler and Palau inline fan (two settings, ~100 and ~200 cfm). Currently have it at ~100, but it's closer to 30-40 with filter. My airflow might need to be increased, but at this time, I have no heat issues (73-78F) and appreciate less sound. I use a forced-exhaust system with two fans at base-level to encourage air movement around the tent and towards the exhaust... at this time I'm fine with using natural airflow (physics) to feed air into the system. Room temp is 70-72F with 60% humidity, will get a dehumidifier for flowering. Setup is in the following pic, take note that there are two "square" table-fans and one inline fan connected to the tubing. The inline fan is HUGE (misleading Amazon picture and straight up false dimensions) but it's so damn quiet, I do not care. We'll see on the air filter.

This one has been super temperamental. A few of the leaves look like they're drooping in the picture, but it isn't as bad as the picture above makes it out to be. The other plant sprouted first and had been handling the light pretty well, but then I started to notice this poor girl curl up a ton. I raised the light a few inches... and it continued. I had read that light stress can be delayed, so I held the course, but she kept on having issues so I finally raised my lights up to 15". In the 36 hours since raising them up to 15", she's looking much better and has started uncurling (slightly).

She's shown a tad bit of light/heat stress, but been much more resilient. Up until last night, I was keeping these two on the same watering schedule, but I think I have been overwatering her as it's really starting to show some droop (much more than the other if that isn't obvious in the pictures).

On Bonza seeds: I receives all of my seeds within 10 days or so (US based), their "stealth" option came with circular seed containers within an old ipod case, honestly it looked pretty good. I ordered like 15 different seeds, mostly autos, and got a ton for free. Three out of four germinated within five days (gave up after that). Here is my one, serious, beef with them: I received an advertisement flyer in the mail a week or two after receiving my delivery. At first, I thought they had given out my information, which they denied vociferously, but they admitted to sending it out themselves "in error". They apologized and I decided not to follow through with my next order, you decide.

Lastly: I hope someone here can learn something from what I have done. I have one question: Should I be worried about drooping at this stage? I figure it could be explained by the rapid growth over the past 3-4 days, fixing itself by next week, but I want to refrain from overwatering.

Howdy partner!
Isn't growing awesome????

They look great! There could be a couple of things. Drooping is most likely overwatering. My first grow i killed a few with water. There is this super neat post on water you can find it here. If you are positive you are not overwatering/underwatering you could heat stress, although that is highly unlikely.

Given the size of the seedlings, and the size of the pots, those pots would take a long time to dry out because there are no roots to suck up the water! So be careful!

Thank you very much for that article, I had heard about the 1" 'trick' but the fact that this one says 1" for every gallon makes me think I've been significantly over-watering.

I'll give these two a couple of extra days between watering this go-around.
