Not my idea, but here's some more pics of what i ended up with. will fit a 400w hps bulb and get you as close as 7" w/a cpu fan for venting. Again, NOT my idea, there's TONS of posts and how-to's on it. Is it cheating if I fish for rep by reposting a "dead horse"?

Again, not my idea, but seems to be keeping my 1000w hps and MH cool, While keeping the smell nuetralized. It cost me around $40 or so. Using a fan in filter and one at end of hose. I've since upgraded to 6" hose and the fans fit perfectly! Dont forget the rivets and panty-hose.

What cfm is your fan?

80cfm each minimum my guess. Since im running 2, but restricted. im guessing 80 or so total maybe. The hood is only about 1-2 ftsq and thats my main concern for heat.

I'm running one 80cfm with no filter on a 400w. I have heat with it. When I was running the 260cfm you could touch the glass on the tube and it was just warm.

This was vented w/a small cpu fan at end of 4" hose. It had only been on for about 8hrs when i did this. (400w hps)

Very nice. How far is the run on your ducting? I better go look at my set up. something is not working the way it should.

with the cool tube, i was running about a 2' duct w/no filter. I never did use a filter with the tube. I broke down and ended up buying a hood, and installed the filter and fans on it. Much better light displacement, i would guess nearly double.

Ph fluctuations will stop your plant from growing. If you're in doubt, keep it simple and you'll be much happier. Save your new ideas for a crop that you arent hoping to smoke.

Over fertilizing is much easier to do than under fertilizing.
