I will be using only one grow room, no veg and flowring room, just one at a time. What is a good way to sex my plants? I don't think I will use feminized seeds since they have a higher chance of becoming hermies.

hermies are a problem with people that really dont know how to grow and stress out the plants, dont hang it on feminized seeds, that just shows your ignorance by saying what a few idiots have said. i buy fems and never had a problem with hermies and alot of others have had great success with feminized plants.

I think I may just go with feminized seeds then for my first few grows. I want to keep it simple and I don't want to have to have a two separate rooms. I will probably go with the two rooms later on when I have more space.
So if I do things right I should probably be able to avoid hermies? Many peeps make it sound like hermies are most likely to occur

just veg em for a month they will show sex without inducing flowering. if you dont want them that big just keep the strongest female and clone

Fem seeds will tend to have a better yield due to good genetics.
Go with them, they're well worth the extra cost to me.

I've heard that that only works if the plants are really "chomping at the bit" so to speak, or in other terms the plants are really going strong. I've heard they don't always show sex like that unless your lucky/or under only sometimes. Is that true? I kinda want to avoid having a cloning/veg room. I want to keep it simple.

its really hard to keep it simple with just one room. and how many plants do you intend on doing? they will all grow at different rates pending on the strain and conditions ect. after a month in veg they will NOT show sex nin veg alone. you have to induce it with 12/12. so you truely must need both rooms or switch the veg to flower after about 5-6 weeks. cloning is SOOOOO simple too. i've even cloned the tops, waited 4 days after they took root in veg and threw just the tops into flowering to find out sex early on. it truely does work and a decent side step. uncle ben has an awesome topping technique you may want to view.

Im having trouble making up my mind I'm thinking 12-16 small plants. I would like 1.5-2 oz per month to smoke. I really could use some direction from u experienced growers.

What you'll want to do is create an environment where you're pulling a plant every couple of weeks, have you looked into a grow tent? That solved my problem completely and we've been very happy with it. Cottonsocks is right, plants will grow at different rates, some will suck/be male and need to be culled etc...
Through cloning, I believe I have got it setup to pull a plant every 2 weeks but it wouldn't be possible without the flowering space, the flexibility is a must IMO.

12-16 small plants? Plan on usin alot of cfl? an HID light is ideal for flowering production rate. and with that kinda light you gotta keep it at a distance, which means your babes will get larger. One taken care of plant can yeild 1 1/2 oz easy with one cola. topping it does reduce the upward height and can create numerous colas. depends on your needs.

I'm now thinking I want to get a "Mother Keeper" grow tent measured at 48"Long x 20"Wide x 48"Tall with four T5 bulbs for mother, clones, and vegging. Then have a 56"W x 56"W x 78"H grow tent with a 600w HID for flowering. All in soil with G13 Haze, it's bushy for a mostly sativa variety and has dense buds for a mostly sativa variety.
Would I have room in that mother keeper so i can cycle plants to keep a constant grow going

yes you would have enouh room for a mother as long as you top her to reduce height. sounds like you gotta great plan so far. its just gonna take time to get cycles of time down so you can be pullin a babe every 2-3 weeks, but your plan seems quite easily possibe
