Sexing via clone

So i popped a pack of bodhis appy superskunk and things are going well, a little too well! I grow with a partner and my half is essentially the nursery. I maintain our genes and control the rotation of what will flower next. He has a veg tent for the girls on deck and a flowering room. i am FULL atm between making babies for outdoor, maintaining our genetics and establishing this new strain. I have a clone of each appy rooted in a solo cup and flipped to flower tonight. In a 2x2 tent i had to set up because no room! My question is: What can i do to possibly get the clones to show their sex asap? Anything with the light schedule? 11/13 or 13/11? ive been popping whole packs and doing well but now that i have multiple strains going with some that i still have multiple cuts to sort, getting a little backed up! Going to start doing half a pack at a time! :bigjoint: Got a little excited and got the appy with outdoor in mind. Live and learn.

The left 3/4 are the 11 appy ss. The tray to the right is: top dawg super stardawg 2.0, a couple cuts of bodhi more cowbell and blaze. Dont know who bred the blaze, we swapped for a cut. Have it in flower now. I went through and cloned/thinned out the appys as well as doing some root pruning to buy me some time. 1 is showing calyxs but the rest are just not wanting to whip em out! There is a guide on grow weed easy website to determine sex in veg, you could switch a clone from each mother to 12/12 and it should show sex after a week or so, so there is that! Lovely looking plants. I struggle to clone myself.

And remember, that males usually show their sex earlier. Besides that I often mistook early male sex with calyxes, so take your time

I have a clone of each mother (or father!) that i switched to flower last night. They will end up with about 20 hrs dark when the lights kick on at 8:00 tonight and be on 12/12 from there. I just didnt know if there was anything i could do to speed up the process? I have a good understanding of sexing in veg but they are just not developed enough. 60x scope and not determinable. Ive been having great luck cloning in rockwool cubes and a humidome. There is a great vid on youtube by harley smith of npk industries. Its 1.5 hrs but well worth it. Ive watched it through a few times, good stuff. Ill post a link! Thanks!

My bad, its only an hour. Time well spent. So many little things, really lets you fine tune the process. Little things you do right can make up for little things you may be doing wrong. I went from pretty good survival rate, 80%? But often very tired looking clones to 100% and the last batch i did had but 1 spec of yellowing on 1 clone.

Nice! Haven't seen this one before, I'll give it a watch, took my last clones 3 days ago so hopefully I can keep them alive. Just got some RO water in the hopes that that was my main issue.

Nah, water is water! What are you doing? I make a solution of 1 litre water, drop or 2 of superthrive/thrive alive (vit b1) 1ml seaweed extract, ph to 5.5-5.8 (i use nectar for the gods ph down. Its phosphoric acid.phosphorus promotes root growth) and some beneficial bacteria/enzymes (i use slf-100 and recharge) like 1 ml slf and 1/8tsp recharge. Cut the clone an inch or so below the node i will make my final cut at and dunk the whole thing in that solution, let it sit in it for a bit. I use the same solution to soak my rockwool/rapid rooters. Make your final cut right below the node. Roots will sprout easiest there. You can also score the stem or scrape a bit of the surface off. I make 4 shallow slits 3/4" long. Dip in your rooting hormone and put the cut in your rooting medium of choice. Keep it in a humidome, vents closed for the first 3-4 days. Day 4/5 start opening the vents a little at a time each day. I mist the inside of the dome daily. A bit of a process but much easier than cleaning/maintaining a cloner. To me anyway. Hope this helps?
