Sexing, Testing, & Chucking with Viparspectra xs1000

I just got a small 2x2 tent which I'm going to use for sexing, testing, and pollen chucking. I'll use a xs1000, compliments of @ViparSpectra Grower to run this small tent.

The first part of this setup will be determining the sex of 4 plants from seed, which have been vegging outdoors for about a month. These seeds are the result of my own pollen chuck. It's basically a Grapefruit Sorbet, but the official genetics are:

[Orange Pink Grapefruit x (Grapefruit x Chem)] x Sour Sorbet (Sour D x Sunset Sherbet)

I still need to add some ducting, and get it light sealed, but hope to have that done in the next day or two, then will flip to 12/12 so that I can determine males and females. After that I'll take cuts of the females and put them back into veg for a bit before flowering.

OK, so I got the tent sealed off from external light leaks, and the plants are officially in day 1 of 12/12 (already got 12-hours of dark):

For some reason I can't seem to find any good pics of the mom (Sour Sorbet), so this pic will have to suffice:

So here we are 10-days into 12/12, and the plants are trucking right along. These plants are in potting mix (Ocean Forest), so definitely a bit slower growth than my usual coco style. They are starting to show sex now. Two can be ID's as female now, one other one I'm pretty sure will be confirmed as male in a day or two, and the 4th is a mystery to me still. My plan at this point, is to top the females, and use the cutting to make a clone from. Then I'll take the females and put them in 18/6 lighting for a week or two to be sure they go back to veg mode. After that I will transplant to larger containers and put them outside to flower naturally, and I will likely pollinate a branch or two with some TBD strain. As far as the males, I haven't quite decided what to do with them yet, but I will likely leave them in this tent so that they can continue to flower and then collect pollen. Also once I get the females out and there is more room in this tiny tent, I will bring one or two of my elite clones and use some STS to reverse them and get female pollen. Likely I will do Wedding Cake or Dosido first, and then Runtz.

Oh, got some good news! Another of the 4 showed as female today, and it was surprisingly the one I thought was going to be male. So, that's 3 out of 4 girls, and one still TBD. I took the 3 girls out of the sexing tent and put them in my veg tent this morning. Now that I have some room in the sex tent, I decided to get some Dosido pollen as my next little project. Dosido is a gream breeding parent, as it's been used in some amazing crosses, notably one of the parents of Slurricane, which is so far the frostiest cut in my garden. I've have this girl vegging outside for a bit now, so going to use her as my gender-reversal subject:

As far as my reversal technique, I'm going to be using home-brewed STS spray. I have a stock solution already made, and have tested it on one plant previously. I've also done the CS technique in the past, but STS seems more reliable and cost efficient.

I gave the plant one good heavy spray this morning, and then will put it into the sex tent at the beginning of the next lights on cycle (midnight). When spraying STS for reversal, you want to fully saturate the entire plant, like really soak every inch of the plant. At this point your plant has now reversed from female to male, however the pollen it ends up producing will contain female chromosomes only, resulting in female seeds. To be sure however, I will spray/soak the plant 3 more times, once every other day.

Here's the STS recipe I use, thanks to Hammerhead:
STS MIX
.5G Silver Nitrate into 500ml RO
2.5 grams Sodium Thiosulfate Anhydrous into 500ML RO
*If Sodium Thiosulfate (pentahydrate) is used 3.9 grams.

Mix the silver into the Sodium to make your Stock Solution. If done backwards Sodium into Silver
the solution will turn brown/Black. This is incorrect. Needs to be clear Solution
Mix For A 1:7 Spray
100MLS OF STOCK INTO 700ML RO.

Well the last of the 4 showed sex today, and it's a girl! I'm pretty surprised that the odds were so much in my favor to get all females, but I'll take it.
