Sexing clones question

I'm curious, do we really need to grow the clone up a week or so before trying to flower it just to determine sex?

Can I just simply cut the clone stick it in a medium and bury it up so its supported and watch for sex?

I personally think if this would work it would save time by just quickly flowering a clone instead of waiting weeks for roots and health?

I do know that un-rooted clones will live for a while.

I'm not sure though, will they flower? Any thoughts?

A clone is already female......they come from a female plant...you need roots to grow a plant 8-10 weeks of flower.

A unrooted clone under a 1000 watt wont last 5 mins

*im assuming hes saying clone as in seedling???? then sure .. a cutting off a any plant will go to flower w. out roots in a cup of water, if left in the dark. will prob die too. unless water is changed, and most likely would fail to root under 12 12 conditions. but either way u can take cuttings off a unsexed plant from seed, put them in water cup in the dark and it will show sex in a week.

Yep you got it, great thats even better, I dont need to run the HPS lamps either. This could save me time and money in hydro.

Thanks
