Setting up my first scrog. Have a couple of questions :-)

Hi All,
I’m nearing the end of my first ever grow. I made a number of mistakes, but learnt a heck of a lot.

Anyways, I’ve been doing a lot of reading about scrogging, and plan on making my next grow a scrog! However, I need some advice.

Current equipment (aside from propagation):

Secret Jardin 90x90x180cm tent
1 x Lighthouse Blackstar 240w 3W LED
Autopot Hydroponic System (ebb & flow)
Perlite / Coco 50% mix
4 x Airdomes
Temp of nute solution and tent always kept around 25 degrees.

TENT PROBLEM:

My idea was to turn the tent on its side, but I was worried that I wouldn’t have enough height. Basically the tent would be 90cm high, the Autopot stands at 20cm and the scrog net at an additional 10cm. This only leaves me with 60cm height. I was considering cutting the side(top) off the tent and constructing an 9mm MDF ‘lid’ and raise it by about 30cm giving me 90cm.
I was going to house the light in the actual MDF so that I wouldn’t lose height from it hanging. I would probably still be able to do this without the MDF.

QUESTION: Do I need to go to the trouble of constructing the MDF lid to give me the extra height, or is 60cm ok?

LIGHTING PROBLEM:

Turning the tent on its side gives me a much larger floor space, although I need 50cm for housing my fan/filter/heater (it’s cold here lol). So I have about 130x90cm floorspace with a height of 90cm (120 if I create lid). I’m guessing my 240w LED won’t be enough. I can only use CFL or LED.

QUESTION: What extra lighting do I need?

PS, I will be growing 4 x Super Iced Grapefruit feminized seeds

Cash is tight at the moment J

Regards and thanks

I wouldn't put The tent on its side, if space (height, width, length) isn't a issue, then use the tent the way it's suppose to be used. Unless ur a handy man and good at sewing go right ahead and adjust.
u can scrog in really any size grow space u have, it's just a matter of how u use the space, if space is minimal, grow one plant not four. Kiss=keep it simple
If money is tight, invest in cfl, if u can afford the extra cost get a 150hps (also provides some warmth)
hps/led=(almost) perfect spectrum
