Setting up CFL electricity

My preparing for my first grow and the last thing I need to plan is my mother/clone room. I want to be using CFL's but I'm not sure how I set them up. I know how to screw them in the socket... obviously, but I'm not aware of how to do the wiring that needs to be done, if any. I have 1 mother plan and 8 clones possibly 10 for an extra two in case they die.

I was thinking about putting two sockets above the clones and then getting a 150w or 200w for the mother. If anyone could give me some info on the set up I would greatly appreciate it!!! I'm so close to my first indoor grow! Please help me get there!

ummmm................u screw it in, then plug it into the outlet, turn on and whammo you got light! Go to walmart look in the hardware section and buy the socket that comes with the cord, that easy.

IMO I would go with 23w-42w cuz any higher and the lumen to watt ratio gets less and the bigger the bulb the hotter they are... As for wiring them it's pretty simple I just used a lamp cord I got at Walmart, splice it down the middle to seperate the wires and connect the one with black lettering on it to the silver screw which is negative and connect the plain white side to the gold screw which is positive.. I had read somewhere else that it doesn't matter since both wires are copper but I just felt that was a safer common sense way then to just hook shit up and pray lol well hope I helpd you out.. Come check out my threads I'm sure you will learn everything you need to do a nice CFL grow in my threads here and over at ICMAG under the name Thundurkle

Thanks guys. And yes mr. you did help. Now I know the electrician way to do it and the easy plug-it-in and go way as well. Alright now to finish up my plans!

I use these with splitters. They mount and all you do is splice an ac cord and attach white to one wire and black to another.

You can tell between the two by looking for rough edges on the rubber insulation on the cord. The black(-) cord will have rough edges and the white(+) will connect to the smooth cord.

Thundurkle! i heard good things about you from icmag
but merahoon 150-200w is very unreasonable misterbombdigity aka Thundurkle has it right 23-42 is fine

o a handy trick with cfls is you can take off the screw in part and strip thr red and black wires from the balast. then you splice an ac cord split it, strip it attach one to of the ac wires to the red and insulate it and do the same with the other ac and the black. make sure you insulte well... the red and black wires cant touch when you plug it in. its not hard if you know how and you dont need to buy sockets and you save space
