Setting LEDs at the right height to select phenos "thriving in intense light," killing the weak

lol, this thread went sideways real quick. I work too hard to keep the outside out of my room, so I won't be trying this woodchip method. For the next 9 pages, we should start discussing HID versus LED.
See, that's a position that doesn't cause a 5-page derailment.... Having a little micro, molecular bio/biochem/organic chem lab experience, I appreciate the emphasis on aseptic technique. The grower that recommended wood chips emphasized sterilization. Just like, if you participate in a CO2 tank exchange program, you'd probably want to bleach the shit out of the tank before introducing it to your plants. Same shit, the stigma of incorporating "organic" components into your lab/grow environment seems a little overblown. I'll try it ... already started flowering, so I'll record measurements on the next round (with/without) (I actually think it would take several months of decomp before you'd get anything CO2-wise emitting from wood chips consistently (no idea), so it might be the round after that). Not advocating for it -- haven't seen the data, but it isn't costing me anything, so ... back to lights?

I don't even use soil, CO2 falls ... I could just hang it in bags away from the plants if we're talking 1500-2000ppm.... If that fails, I'm buying tanks....

Some of you on here may have Jerry Rice level talent, but your personality is TO. The need to make fun of someone else is your own insecurity.

Get stoned and stop bashing others. If after getting stoned you still feel the need to find someone else to make fun of, smoke more. Its not them dude...its you.
Threads full of cops, that's why.

They only came here because it's about killing the weak

bk78, these are a few pics from my smaller tent (which has been outperforming my larger tent...). lights were still pretty far away in the pic, and I didn't have my canopy as low as I do now. Hopefully, my adjustments translate into bigger buds.

It's unfortunate, the most sativa-like cola on the Bruce Banner (i.e., a huge pickle) is off-camera to the right....

The one with all the hairs started much further away from light (overall, smaller buds) ... but you can see that it eventually ripened nicely -- a hard crust of resin formed in the final week before I cut it. Didn't get as pronounced a crust in the BB that yielded significantly more. Different phenos.

The other photo is a Grape Ape. Not my best ever, but it did pretty well I guess.

Both are high calyx-to-leaf ratio, 7-8 wk flowering, high-yielding, smell. BB's definitely more potent (starting BB 2.0 seeds now) (sativa-dom), but Grape Ape's no sleeper (mostly indica) and, with its genetics and grape flavor, I can check off a few things on my final strain/pheno selection checklist.grape ape.jpgBruce Banner.jpgbb.jpgBruce Banner.jpgbb.jpg

Are they photos of photos?

OP what makes you say it’s a 7-8 week strain? I’m growing that now and I’m at 7.5 weeks and plan on 10 total

Which? Bruce of Grape Ape? They were pretty quick for me, one or two might have dragged out to 9+ for ripening.

OP? Your tag name is some 90s Snoop/Bud Light derivative. Get over yourself.

That Bruce Banner is NOT a 7-8 week strain. Cool story though bro

Just don’t want others to get confused that are trying to grow that strain.

here we go - thread is going sideways, there seems to be alot of words going round in circles.. really dont know what to make of this thread - legit?, taking the piss?, or is someone reading to much into going dak- its a weed , to much work in my view, I think you are over complicating the growing process ..

Thread went sideways on the first page

I will ask bk78 since he has shown some killer grows --

Have you grown any strains that were "done in 7 to 8 weeks" of flowering that wouldn't have been better grown to 10 weeks or more? I see a lot of folks wanting or claiming a strain is done in 7 or 8 weeks. Thoughts?

this is why I said that ... it may not be technically correct but I stop the clock when I consider a plant done ... because ripening is so individual, I just assume ~8 wks until done ... then 1-2 wks for ripening ... it could go longer, I pull them when there's a nice crust of resin.

perhaps i should either include the whole time as one or, when I'm describing it, note "allow time for ripening."

and i had ~18 strains in the beginning ... I noted which ones took much longer than 8 wks ... and I don't grow them anymore....

just appreciate that the buds like nice ... jesus, it's like you're going to see an "OP review" and say, wait a minute, ... this changes everything ... 8 weeks, boys.... lololol
