Assuming you are talking about cfl equivalent watts and not actual, I gotta disagree on that amount of light. What's the total area? How big will these plants get? Those factors matter more than the number of plants. But I would want a min of 160 actual watts in veg and double that in flower. Mix of spectrum matters a lot: 70% 6500k in veg with 30% 2700k, and the reverse for flower.

I think the most cost effective way to use cfls is the 40 or 42w bulbs. They are very flexible. You can hang one alone, put two in a Y adapter and in a large clamp reflector, all sorts of things. Easy to shift and re-arrange. Try at amazon.com for good prices or get them at Lowes or HD.

Thats 100Watts of Incandescent lighting which means nothing, really should just put actual watts next time. Two plants will grow and flower from that, but they will stretch more then they should and the buds will probably be very loose/fluffy popcorn styled ones. Even if you don't have much money a 6pack of bulbs at lowes is like 8 bucks and then get a few adapters to plug the bulbs in and your still looking at under 20$. (I think 6500K bulbs cost a bit more, or did atleast last time I looked but that may have changed) Of course its your grow, your money, so go with what you can/want.

Well if it helps any the picture in my Avatar is my last CFL grow in about a 4x4 space growing 3 plants and think at the time of that photo there were about 12 bulbs in that room.(23/26Watts) 26watt is I believe as high as Lowes goes right now as far as 6 packs of CFLS but I may be wrong.

Personally, if it were my grow I would do just about whatever I had to to get atleast another pack of bulbs, preferrably two, as I would expect that to atleast double my yeild.

Here's the best deal on 42w cfls I know of. Note free shipping. Unfortunately they are all 2700k and they don't have 6500. Amazon has other 42w 6500s for a bit more. I see 42w cfls at Lowes and HD.

yo illegal, these look small as shit they work well? cuz if so damn im bout to buy a 6 pack cuz the highest lowes has is 26watt, for $5 a pop.. and im goin into flower soon..

Couldn't find the lumens on those exact bulbs but a 40watt CFL should put out about 2,700 Lumens while a 26watt would put out about 1,725. So youd gain what like a lumen per watt by using the 40watt bulbs.
(5 bucks a bulb?)

i dont know about where you live but where i live home depot has a 300 watt clf not the real watts... but they are 25 a pop my space is smaller could i veg with 400watts and flower with 800watts sounds like a good ideal to me and where can you get the adapters to plug bulbs in a power strip ... whats the imput on a PC planter.. home made:leaf:

They sell those bulbs where I live also, but if you break it down price wise per lumen, (including adapter prices) they turn out to be a waist of money. Maybe prices are different there though. Also are you asking about our opinion on a PC grow or something else?

bigbud, the only watts that matter is the watts(energy used) ones.. like a 125watt will actually be only 26watts(energy used).. (so like 375equivalent would b roughly 78 actual watts) the adapters should be sold at home depot and/or lowes.. i have 4 lights right now that are about 106 total actual watts.. and thats only for one plant.. plus u need to decide what ur minumum light output needs to be, LxW=SqFt, and general rule is to put out about 3000 lumens per SqFt

Hmmm... 1000Watt Per 9 Plants = Nice. (3 Row of 3) so plant get lightray from the bottom to the top without problem. Using 100watts to start off seeds is good then for the first week... put your light at the max range u can get.

[well i have 2 and a half sq feet of grow area... I am going to do a PC grow forsure. i am going to use the PC fans for ventalation one blowing in at the bottom and one blowing out at the top... but what can i use to line the box with that is easy to find and somewhat cheap or cheap:leaf:

Line the box with a emergency blanket from any local store, there made of Mylar and cost maybe 3 bucks. (Maybe hang it with magnets or just use some tape) Or just paint it white.

Also I was asking the price just out of curiosity. Prices on CFLs have been changing pretty rapidly over the past couple years and just wondering where they are right now.

a reflective material? u could always go mylar.. but i feel that mylar gets these "hot spots" in which a certain area will reflect more light than other spots, causing less light is some areas, or even burns. i would go with a poly-film, one u might of heard of is panda plastic, im bout to make a 3'wide2'deep4'tall tent out of panda plastic i heard it works very well..
