SENSI KUSH, DWC, 600w HPS

Hey people, this is my first grow, and what better way to kick it off that with my first journal!

To be honest, I started this close to 2 weeks ago now, on the 28NOV14, and have only just now figured out how to start posting!

I have been reading journals and problem solving articles on here and other websites for close to 3 months now, so Id like to think (probably unrealistically) that I at least know enough to get me going well!

Without any further ado! Let's start!

So, my setup.

Mirrored closet, 1.2m x .55m (4x1. with mirrors turned to face inwards

2 tubs, 20L (5.28gal) and 50L (13.2gal) running 10L and 30L respectively.

The 20L tub has 49mm holes for 50mm pots and the 50L tub has 83mm holes for 84mm pots

The 20L tub is used for weeks 1-3, with the 50L tub and the larger pots being for more mature growth.

I have 2 twin line air pumps pushing to 2x6" air stones (20L tub) and 2x 10" air stones (50L tub)

All of this is in the bottom of the closet under a 600w lucagrow HPS bulb (magnetic ballast)

The rooms has aircon, keeping the closet at about 25 Celsius (77 farenheit) and 30% RH.

if day 1 was germination, then today is day 11. here are some updates of the plants.
these were taken this morning, just after "sun up and dew" haha..

i had some dramas going back 3 days ago. what looked like root browning and a PH that wouldnt stay below 8! i was checking every two hours on saturday, i would lower it to 5.5, and 2 hours later it would be close to 8 again (only an estimate as i am still waiting on my probe and am using drops) this is also after i flushed my system. found out that it was slime. and that as it was dying, the ph was skyrocketing. taken care of now and ph is steady between 5.5 and 6.

Adjusted ph again this morning. Was at 7, took it back down to 5.5. The kids are looking much healthier too. A nice dark green tinge to them instead of the lime green they were a few days back. I have added 8ml to my 10L res so it is running at just over half strength!

that's pythium buddy. I had the same issue over and over and over until I made a Homemade chiller. I'll link the thread if you're interested, no mechanical parts or anything like that you just have to change water bottles every couple of days m8

lower res temps hold more O2 so you kill two birds with one stone, more air and cold temps 2 things Pythium HATES.

I gauruntee it will solve your problem man then once you get it under control use some Dutch master zone, or z7 or a root conditioner product like that! it'll keep it away and promote a lot of new root growth

also look into beneficial bacteria! you can run your res temps in the 70s and not have any problems! whichever route you take should clear all that slime up and keep your ph from swinging so much

Thanks a bunch patch kid! The brand of additives I've been running with is canna. cannazyme and rhizoctonic are the two at the top of my to buy list, but it's over $120 for both in 250ml bottles where I live! I would definitely appreciate the cooler link too! @PatchKid

nice canna Aqua is some good shit!!!! seen some huge healthy buds come from running with that stuff. and holy moly 120 bucks? geez man sorry to hear that lol

look at Dutch master gold zone it cost me about 20 bucks for 250 ml it may be similar where you are just with a little extra shipping....

and here ya go! here's the link for the chiller. you could set it up in your res by just putting a submersible pump inside and running it out through the cooler back into your res. I promise it will keep it nice and cold man you may even have to put it on a timer or it'll get too chilly

it saves you from having to go buy one for a couple hundred bucks, and this one has no moving parts so it can't stop working lol (besides the submersible pump that is, but if you're like me you've already got one to recirculate so it's not an addition)
