Seek advice on the following nutrients;

hi to all,

i would like some advice on the following nutrients which i will be using for my second grow; the strains are Nirvana Maui Waui and Nirvana Bubblelicious. they will be grown under 600 W MH/HPS in a 4x4 mylar clad tent.

there is plenty of good potting soil where i live and pots will be large. I will not be growing more than 4 plants at a time.

Ventilation/Temperature/Ph - Ok.

The only issue i have is with nutrients. The nutrients that i have access to here is from Europe but they seem like they may not be suitable for growing pot. - the last time i used them i got severe nute problems and plant basically died on me. so anyway these are the nutrients that i will be using.

1) Lonzin N plus
- for growth stimulation and stamina
- 30-10-10
-Dilution; 0.5-1oz in a gallon of water (1-2lbs per acre)
- Spray entire plant weekly. Avoid spraying during noon heat. Should be missed just prior to application.
-For vegetables, potatoes, chillies, flowering plants, foliage plants, lawns, shrubs, and fruit trees.
- blue granules/powder.

2) Melspar – dark blue granules.

- 20-20-20
- -Dilutionl Add melspray to water.
- Strong; (in 50 gals per acre) – 4lbs
(in 1 gal) – 8 teaspoons. = concentration – 0.8%
(in 500 lit per ha) – 4kg \

- Very Low; (in 50 gals per acre) – 1/2lbs
(in 1 gal) – 1 teaspoon. = concentration – 0.1%
(in 500 liter per ha) – 1/2kg

Concentration - Vegetables – 0.2% - 0.6%
Ornamentals – 0.1% - 0.2%
Potatoes and Fruit trees and Lawns – 0.1% - 0.4%
Application – spray entire plant weekly.
- avoid spraying directly during noon heat.
- Use the spray mixture the same day.
- Apply soil fertilizers to correct ph if required.

Melspray with micro nutrients supplies a balanced diet to plants.

Macro nutrients – Nitrogen (N) – 20%
Phosporous (P205) – 20%
Potassium (K2O) – 20%

Micro Nutrients – Mg, B, Mn, Cu, Fe, Zn, Mo, Co.

3) Lonzin
- soluble plant food with nutrients.

- 10-20-30 (N-P-K)
- Yello granules.
- Manufactured by Melchemie (Holland).
- For flowering plants.

The manufacturing company is Lonza. I think its from Switzerland.

My question is ;
should i go ahead and use these nutes or stick with only soil and manure (cow shit)?

Will appreciate any answers or opinions and Thanks for reading.

They should work. They seem roughly equivalent to Miracle-Grow that people either love or hate in the West. Just keep in mind that none of the formulae addresses the "forgotten macronutrients": Ca, Mg, S. cn

thanks for the answer.

yeah, the nutes seem familiar to Miracle Grow. I remember a friend using it in the States. It worked quite well for him.

So I believe it will work but it has to be severely diluted and ph checked also.

How significant are the forgotten macronutrients? Doesn't normal potting soil contain these elements?

I'm a hydro wonk so my potting soil wisdom is threadbare at best. I imagine Ca and S are provided in most mixes. Hemp is particularly Mg-hungry, which is why CalMag and Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) are popular additives. cn

thanks for the reply man.

yeah my potting soil contains both Ca and S....though in small quantities. Should be enough since i am growing in large pots.

Is CalMag, Epsom Salt required throughout the life-cycle, i.e. is it required in vegetative phase or flowering only?

it is a pity that we can't get hydro nutrients here as i would have surely gone hydro if i had the chance.

Again thanks for your answers. i appreciate it.

have a good week.

Usually magnesium deficiency shows up during most vigorous growth ... late veg, early flowering. I use this guide to diagnose the plant's needs. I'd only supplement Mg if the telltales for deficiency show up, i.e. interveinal chlorosis. Since each strain, and each pheno (individual) within a strain will have somewhat different appetite and limits, there isn't really a "one size fits all" approach. Good luck and may you have a green Christmas ... cn

Perfect guide. Thank you!

Hope to finish by Christmas. Would be ideal, may pick up some autoflowering strains this week. Will post an update soon as i get the chance.

Thanks for the answers dude.
