MJ Seeds are illegal in all Federal US facilities (this means airports too). There are exceptions for sterilized seeds with a valid import license and used for obtaining oils, and places where there are valid med laws, but that won't include airports.
So yes it's illegal. If you are just taking a few it won't be any problem getting them out - just put them in your pocket. They won't show up, even if you get "picked" at security.
My main concern would be getting them in to the country you are visiting.
