Seed's Not Sprouting

My last 5 seeds have never broken the surface. They were all properly germed and planted about twice the size of the seed deep. What could be my problem?

are you planting the seeds correctly, you have to make sure the root sticking out of the seed goes downward in the medium

yep, root pointed down... moist soil and i got a couple of cfl's and a fan goin in a rubbermaid box.

Soil mix to hot?

Soil to wet?

Soil packed down to hard on top of the seed?

Does the root have to be pointing downward? I think I might have a problem with that too. I just plopped the seed in their (usually it was pointing horizontally).
