Seeds from RPC, CAM, or Rare Dankness?

I have been trying to decide who to get seeds from for my next grow. I have read a lot of controversial things about RPC. My friend up in Denver loves them and thinks they are the greatest genetics in the world.. I have read quite a few people talking about herm issues, & low yielding. Plus, I don't like the flower times/genetics on a lot of their strains they offer, but I recently saw where they released some new genetics that look appealing.

I have not been able to find out hardly any info on CAM's seeds (except what they provide) Does anyone have any experience with these? The genetics look awesome and right up my alley! (I Love land race strains)

As far as Rare Dankness goes, I have not read much about them because the individual strains didn't really appeal to me when browsing through.

Does anyone have any experience with these companies/advice? (My personal preferences aside, I am just curious about the genetics)

Any info is greatly appreciated and plus rep will be given if you personally have grown from one of the companies + provide pictures. Thanks!

I have seen quite a few threads regarding RPC & have read through them. If anyone has any info/knows of any threads discussing CAM's "RootSeller" Seeds I would be forever greatful

CAM = Colorado Alternative Medicine. Med and Rec store on Broadway.
I always loved their herb and concentrates in the past, but know nothing of the seeds they carry..

Grew out one Rare Dankness strain when they were just starting, that I don't think they carry anymore called Afghan Abusive (Abusive OG x Afghan IBL). Turned out pretty nice.

CAM = Colorado Alternative Medicine.
Thanks, took a look at their menu. Some interesting crosses in there.

From the local companies, I've only grown from 303 Seeds (biodiesel) and a few strains from 14er Holistics.

So far all my biodiesels have been male, so hard to recommend them.

The stuff from 14er has been really nice. Can see pics of some that I just harvested if you check out link in my sig.

I have a pack of Jennys Kush from Rare Dankness, but haven't grown any out yet.

That CAM Sneeze if FIRE.... I'd get any of their Ghost crosses, love that shit. Also yea man, their bud has to be amongst the best in Denver.

RPC is ok but basically they've taken only a couple of their RPA bad ass genetics and crossed em with strains here, not much on the list impresses me either. GF is a member at The Clinic and they sell RPC strains, again, nothing very impressive.

RD... I'm a member at Riverrock, so I've tried a lot of the RR grown RD strains. Idk if it's RR(because their bud has fallen way off) or just the strains, but I've never been super impressed. Nor was I impressed with the sample bud Scott was showing at the RD booth at the cup. The Scotts OG has never impressed or tasted like OG to me. The lee roy haze is really strong but I hate haze. The starkiller is ok, and so is the tangie strain they have.

In all honesty, no Co based seed company has impressed me yet.

Thank you all very much for your responses. Bshdctr, that looks very pretty, props on that. I feel retarded asking this, but how do I give +Rep? I'm use to browsing here on my phone and don't see a Rep sign now that I am on my computer.

Stanly, thank you for stopping in and sharing your info. How did you like the strains from 14er Holistics? I saw him advertising on here and was interested in a few of his crosses, I just hate to make that drive (7 hours both ways) :/

i guess im a homer, but i pretty much entirely disagree w/ algore. but i stopped trying to find the dankest highest thc best yielding competition strains i could run and started running strains because they produce a buzz that i enjoy w/ flavor that i like. and i try to run CO genes because like i said - i guess im a homer.

i've personally run RPC's Citrix & Nerds and both are high on my list of recent favorites. the flavor of some of these citrix that i just grew is one of my favorites in a long time. i've also got a light green nerds phenotype that is a perfect blend of sour diesel and grapey urkel - i havent shared it w/ anyone who didnt think it tasted and smoked amazingly. i've also got a friend who has run glass slipper, mammoth, hurricane, and hemlock and while some of them didnt throw out that fruity flavor profile that i love they all smoked great.

i will say that i did run into some late-flower instability and random bananas but they werent early enough to be much of a concern, i cut them out and havent seen a seed in my harvest yet.

i've got friends who have been in FoCo for 15 years and i've never come across a RD strain that didnt at least get me well baked. several cup winners in their catalog too. i cant remember if it was their tangerine kush or tangerine haze but one of them had flavor that blew my head off and great smoke taboot. have had some real winners from moonshine haze, leeroy, eljefe, dark shadow and plenty of others that i cant recall off top of my head.

never been to or run anything from CAM but i do have friends who got a platinum cookies cut from there and no idea whether or not its "real" but its definitely chronic.

Hey AlGore, Thanks for stopping in!

That CAM Sneeze if FIRE.... I'd get any of their Ghost crosses, love that shit. Also yea man, their bud has to be amongst the best in Denver.

-I really appreciate your input, I know you live closer up there and have much more experience with them than me. I have only been there once on your suggestion which I am very thankful for and glad I stopped in!! Def amongst the best in Denver I would have to agree, I was more impressed with them than the Clinic. Seems as if the Clinic has been iffy recently.. At least in my experiences. (As far as consistent quality)

RPC is ok but basically they've taken only a couple of their RPA bad ass genetics and crossed em with strains here, not much on the list impresses me either. GF is a member at The Clinic and they sell RPC strains, again, nothing very impressive.

-I noticed that, it seems as if CAM is less stingey with their genetics/crosses they are selling. My friend recently hooked me up with his member pricing so I got some beans "Glass Slipper" & "Lohan" I don't know much about the strains, but the beans are small and grey with no stripes (Looks like they are somewhat premature) so just based off looks with the seeds I am not impressed so far.

-I'm sorry to hear about their bud quality falling way off, that's unfortunate. I've only had Scott's OG once in the springs and I have to agree I was not impressed at all either. I am also with you on the Haze'z.. Make me too paraniod! Haha. The tangie sounds good though.

In all honesty, no Co based seed company has impressed me yet.

-So, all in all would you say for the most part people here are probably just best off ordering online? Trying to debate if it would be best to do that or buy seeds locally.
I know I def. want a couple of crosses from CAM.. Some look very appealing to me, hopefully they turn out as good as they sound.

Have you tried CAM's GSC, Blue Dream, Flo or Black Domina by chance?

Sorry for the long-winded post. If I can figure out how to give +Rep to your time & what not I will do so

Hey thank you for your input Makisupa. I have read about the Nerds late-flower instability. Looks like a very pretty strain to grow based off the journals I have read through (One might of actually been yours?)

Sounds like you have been around here a while.. Would you happen to have any suggestions from RD or RPC that might do well outdoors? I was wondering if some of RPC's new strains "the bank" might do well outdoors, but I need to research them some more first.
That's the reason I am so interested in CAM's seeds. They are crosses with PCK so I figured there is a good chance they would do well outdoors. That is generally what I look for.. Fast flowering, hardy, stout strains that can handle the rough conditions we have here in CO.

yeah, i had a thread w/ some photos of the citrix & nerds. and added a few to the RPC thread here in the CO forum too. i've currently got cuts of the citrix & nerds that i kept as well as seeds from mammoth & glass slipper running now, going into flower in the next couple of weeks. once theres something to actually show off a couple weeks in i'll post some photos again.

im not much of an ourdoor grower but id like to see mammoth, haole, hemlock, or hurricane outdoors. my friends in foco have had some real nice RD hillbilly armor and el jefe outdoors last year but they got babied in 20gal smart pots that were able to be moved under shelter during storms, hail, etc.

I have some CAM GSC right now... Supposedly "The Forum Cut", seems every dispensary in Denver suddenly has the forum cut. I also tried some homegrown GSC forum that same day and they seemed to match flavor and smell perfect, although the home grown was more mature. I also had some at the cup that was very similar, and none of it impressed me, lol.

The point of all that? I don't think I like GSC, lol. The only cookie stuff I've REALLY liked is the "Cookies" strain from Riverrock, supposedly indica dom GSC family. Kinda funny because I've been bitching about their bud lately, but when they do have the "Cookies", it tastes so good.

As for the whole CO vs Other seeds thing. I am by no means an expert, and RD has won lots of awards(but so has TGS, so what does that tell you? Tells you popularity beats quality). I'm just saying I haven't found any Co bred strains that I personalty like other than the Chem/Kush genetics.

My actual ideal plan is finding a leet clone source and growing smaller, vs the larger from seed grow I'm just finishing. Unfortunately, I have more than 30 breeder seeds just chilling right now, so for the meantime, it's grow from seed. Think I'm gonna just sprout a shit load of em and leave em in the windows all summer, lol.

Hell ya man I thought so, it was all looking really good. I'll def have to check back in a couple weeks when you have those pictures up.. Keep up the good work :bigjoint:

For sure, well thank you for the suggestions. I will def. have to check those out by RD and read up on them some.

I've noticed that & it seems like that trend is picking up in the Springs as well (everyone having 'The Forum Cut") Lol, was the smell kind of like a cotton candy - like smell/taste? I've had 3 dif. cuts of GSC and one of Thin Mints here in Co.. I don't think any were legit. Most didnt even have much of a flavor or smell, just looked pretty.. The other didnt look quite as pretty, but had a nice flavor/smell to it.

Lol, how is their cookies? Think it's legit or close to?
It's funny, I had just read the article on cookies you posted right before you posted it. Very interesting read. It will be tight when they start releasing legit cuts with seed companies.

-For sure well thank you for sharing.. I'd def. agree popularity beats quality.. The reason I want to grow GSC.. Following the hype lol. Speaking of that, did CAM's GSC cut look pretty? (I know you said you were not the impressed overall)

That sounds like a good plan! There is only one dispensary I am aware of who truly cares about their patients and is not stingy with their genetics (Natural Mystic in Co. Springs) They will root out just about whatever for you if you ask and have some of the better genetics in CO in my opinion, at least some the best in the Springs anyways.. Reason I mention that is it may be worth looking into if trying to get very good genetics & growing from clone.

Dude, you should def. do that if security is not a concern! My neighbor does that year round and averages 1/2-1 oz. per plant during the winter months and 2-3 oz. per plant during the summer... Very good for the little amount it cost to grow it there if you ask me

I run some of the RPCs... Lohan and Glass Slipper...
The glass slipper is great... the pheno i ended up liking yields well, packs on trichs, and can handle a relatively strong ec.
Lohan has been unbelievable smoke, but she has certain late flower instabilities which really showed up in my last crop... I'm running her one more time, but if banana leaves start showing all over the plant again im prob going to toss the genetic.
Germination of the seeds was impressive... i cant remember a single one that didnt pop

Thanks Duke! Lohan & Glass Slipper are actually two beans I got from there. When did the late flower instabilities kick in? You have liked growing them so far?

DukeOG

yeah so far all is well with growing these genetics... theyre a breeze compared to some of the other strains im running. The glass slipper is about as vigorous as I could hope for... veg quick to thick stalks despite multiple tops and snaps... she rarely ever needs bamboo stakes despite her massive head nugs. Both grew without any complications straight from seed. Last lohan starting herming around week 6, the one i have in there now is going on week 5, so fingers crossed...

just tossed my lohan mother, she showed way too much genetic instability late in flower to make her worth keeping...
