Seeds are not germinating???

I put a seed in a rockwool on Saturday and it still hasn't germinated + 1 in a cup filled with water on sunday and it hasn't cracked. One of the seeds turned black. The seeds are from Greenhouse Seed Co (Arjan Haze #3). The environment in which its in is about 80 degrees maybe 85 degrees. Should I wait or try another seed? I paid good money for them :s

I'd wait another day or two then try again.
I sprout between paper towels myself.

it's only been a day or two, seeds germed this way can take a good week or so ime.. i'd give them a few more days at least before giving up on them..
this is why i like to germ them in a paper towel, this way i can see that the seed has cracked and is ready to go into the soil or w/e.. no waiting around wondering if they even cracked or not, and it also helps speed up the time that it will take for them to break the surface of the soil or the cube or watt have you..
