seeds and the U.S.A

been thinking about buying some seeds online. I hear they get confesgated sometimes. do they ever let the seeds go and keep track of the package and where it goes, etc.? anyone have any bad stories of getting caught?

I heard that happens with Nirvanna seeds but maybe someone else can be more informative

No need to track it...They have the address on the packaging....thats where its going.

So they usually just take them....Thats why you ship to an alternate address.

I do not live in the us but it is reasonably safe to order seeds online and from nirvana(they package discretely so its really less likely). There is a possibility of them opening your item and then following protocol they will probably investigate. But its not often i have heard of this, its unlikely. Never be to careful though.

In my opinion what is of interest to you in this article are the last several paragraphs that describe why customs might decide to examine mail.

“Past practice indicates that the following circumstances (which are illustrative and not exhaustive) provide ‘reasonable cause to suspect’ and permit the opening of sealed letter class mail without a search warrant or authorization of the sender or addressee.

“A detector dog has alerted to the presence of narcotics or explosives in a specific mail article;

“X-ray fluoroscope examination indicates the presence of merchandise or contraband;

“The weight, shape, feel, or sound of the mail article or its contents may indicate that merchandise or contraband (e.g., a hard object which may be jewelry, a stack of paper which may be counterfeit money, or coins) could be in the mail article. Contents of a mail article which may feel lumpy, powdery, or spongy may, for example, indicate the presence of narcotics;

“Information from a source previously shown to be reliable indicates that an identifiable mail article contains merchandise or contraband;

“The mail article is insured;

“The mail article is a box, carton, or wrapper other than a thin envelope;

“The sender or addressee of the mail article is known to be fictitious.”

I imagine they might also randomly select mail. However, assuming your mail is not selected randomly, or found by some other means e.g. dog etc., and looks like a simple letter, then I would think that more often then not you should recieve your mail. (Unless of course customs is by some miracle the only efficient, un-broke, government agency in existence. An impression left by many paranoids cruising these boards, and something maybe more then one seedbank might want you to believe (now who's paranoid?) buwahaha)

so would a PO BOX be good?

I also live in the middle us and didnt have a problem getting my seeds I used bcseeds.com and my seeds arrived in about 8 days. as far as a PO BOX I wouldnt even bother they can still track you. What I would do is go to a bank or wallgreens and purchase a prepaid visa card, your information is not needed to get one. your payment cant be tracked.

A couple of my homies ordered seeds multiple times and once for my friend he didnt get his package. He doesnt know what happened to em, if they got seized or not. but regardless the feds never came.

Hey Butter, why arn't any UK letter checked?

Any other suggestions for other online seed companies with a good reputation? In observing the comments online it appears that the overseas companies have the advantage of ripping you off because how does one really know if customs intercepted your goods? Just a thought.

If customs took them usually they will send you a letter stating that they did.There are no seed companies in the USA..

BS Nirvana ships to the US everyday. Learn befor you become the resident expert.

I just got my seeds, Bcseedking.com, its from canada so easier to get by customs IMO.

I have also used BcSeedking with great results..But the seeds i ordered from Nirvana got to me quicker, and im in the US. But i have no complaints with either of them.

WOW that bcseeds is my favorite site so far...anybody else got input on it? imma post a threat that shit has good info, good prices, and they have their own breeders they said and some of them look like really good buys for a uniqu strain
