Hey fellas,

I put 4 germinated seeds in coco coir/clay pebbles pots last Friday (6 days now). one of em broke ground on sunday n grew into a baby plant n got first set of leaves, after that hasnt grown at all, n the 3 other seedlings havent broken ground I've kept the mix moist and everything, tho a couple of days the temp was at 86 degrees after coming home from work, but ive kept the window open so on average it has been 80-84 degrees. N i got a 600w hps running 24h since the first baby came out, but its like 3,2 feet away from it so it shudnt be too much.
I dont know if I shud keep waiting or try to dig n see if somethin is happenin with the other seedlings?

...is why germing on the kitchen paper towel is so popular ...just hang in there another 7 days perhaps

I know and what I meant I put 4 seeds that I of course germinated first, 24h in water glass then 24h in paper towel between two dinner plates. And the tap root was out in all of them except one but the shell was cracked n i cud see the taproot.

I always have problems germinating in paper towels then transplanting them afterwards.

The best method I Have used for germing is to plant directly into soil in a small cup, soak the soil, and then place into a large ziplock bag to hold in moisture. When one has broken soil just emove that cup from the bag.

Haven't lost any seedlings this way

You can also save some electricity and start seedlings under fluorescent lighting, then throw them under the 600w when they are about 6inches tall.

yeah but you can't really transplant from soil to hydro.

well from what I've read that's way too much power for little seedlings/newborns.. i think you're supposed to wait until 6" tall before powering up. I'd get some CFL's and be delicate as newbie plants are the most vulnerable and don't need much light.

also it might be smart to give the plants some down time, I'm just now sprouting up and I'm on an 18/6 schedule (lights on @ 7am, lights off @ 1 am)

Are u talking about lumens or what? Cuz it is in an air cooled hood and I read in many places that if its like 3 feet away its fine

And my concern atm is not even vegging its that my 3 seedlings havent broken ground after a week when one of the 4 broke ground in 2-3 days

some take longer than others, but they also may be duds. I've ordered some some seed shops and they've been bunk. 75% bunk ratio doesnt seem likely though

just give it another couple days imo

I disagree. You can rinse root system and put it directly into whatever hydro system you have(DWC,NFT,AeroPonics) As long as your not trying to move 4 foot plants with massive roots systems
