Can i sex my seedling 7-10in tall i was gunna give them a dark period anywere from 24-48 hours then go back to veg it has to do something

no it does not have to do something it will do nothing

Never tried it but sounds interesting.

seedlings need to either reach maturaty, get stresssed into thinking it is time for it to flower -takes a while as well,

How old is it and has it been under 24 hr light? depending on how old it is but at 7 to 10 inches tall....I would say its getting close to showing pre flowers and dont be turning off the lights then flipping them back on unless you want to end up with some stressed out plant.....I know from experience that under a 24 hour light period after about 6 to 7 weeks pre flowers show up. On a 18/6 light period pre flowers tend to show up just a little earlier 5 to 6 weeks......and thats not set in stone but its a pretty good time line
