Seedlings / Medium / Lights / CUP

hi, my new seedlings from dr chronics have just started producing leaves(still in the moist tissue).

I wanted to know 1st what size pot could i use in the beginning some people say to use a cup. But then some people say that it needs holes at the bottom?. So could i use a small plastic cup with holes at the bottom or no holes?. I understand it needs to be moist and plently of P nutes.

I also wanted to know which is the best soil to get atm at for a seedling?

I only germinated 2 seedlings, so ive only got 2 plants(1 with leaves all ready) Would ONE single Blue spectrum 125/200w envirolite CFL do enough for both plants in veg? do they work well for veg?.

Like everything i like to confirm these things before i go ahead I don't want to be making silly mistakes. please advice thanks.

i germ and do the first 4-6 weeks in a 4" pot.. with holes in the bottom.

don't put any nutes on a seedling. wait till it has a few nodes at least.

mmm, don't know about those lights (outdoor). all i can tell you about light is the more the better.

y is it when i make a thread no one ever replies. i get like 1 reply. When i c people with even stupider threads they get so many replies. cant no one just 'clarify' what i asked?. Regards. It seems 2 me on this forum the only way to catch attention is to make a thread, with a title saying "FIRST GROW JOURNAL *PICCS INCLUDED*. then u get silly cunts replying then.

it's luck of the draw really. just depends on who sees your thread.

just keep posting and reading, you'll be able to find most of your very basic questions are already asked and answered.

ok, then here goes, put them into soil-less (no addes nutes) potting soil, NOT Miracle Gro, stuff sux, trust me...16 oz. plastic cups work fine for now, NOT clear! roots hate light...4 holes in bottom of cup, make hole forsprout with finger, put sprout WHITE Shoot DOWN into cup. this sprout is actually called a 'shooter root' and travels downward in search of water. water it until water runs out bottom holes. place under your lights, put lights on 24 hrs steady or 18 on/ 6 off. do NOT use fertz or nutes for first 3 weeks, water every 3-4 days ONLY do not overwater, (an all too common mistake amongst first-time growers). that's it for now. Read everything on growing here on this site, look around, watch the grow vids, very informative POST PICS of your babies, and we'll do all we can to help you get a green thumb! :mrgreen:
