Has anyone used the 80w led desk top grow lamp from Amazon
Great reviews. Has different lighting and dimmer settings. Ive just got one so going to try and see how it works. Thinking of low light blue setting for first frw days and then gradually increase the lighting as they grow. Any thoughts?

Actually, IMO, germing and growing seedlings under a low wattage floros is a great way to start. I have used a 96w T5HO (6500k) for germ and 3 weeks veg for years. run mine 24/7 -365. Gets all plants ready for the main flower room.
Keep your little light within a inch or two with a slight breeze stirring after germ....

i agree, flouros are undeniably good for seedlings/veg. 80w of flouros puts out the same amount of light as 40w of LED. so where did the other 40w go? heat. flouros create the perfect growing environment for young plants at low hanging distance, not just the right amount of light.

if this is the one you're talking about, be advised its an 18w light not an 80w. the 80w is just marketing. scroll down and check out the real power draw.
Id grab some screw in CFLs or a T5 fixture

Why not just buy a proven technology that will actually grow a super nice plant from seedling to harvest while using less wattage than most of the examples that listed in this post! For example 1 x 288 board will veg a plant nicely using just 45watts of power, and then that same light running at 90 watts will easily flower a 42 day old single topped vegging plant that will produce at least 6 zips every time...

Here is a link to a the cheap off-brand 288 / 3K with red that is actually manufactured by KingBrite, and I have bought 4 them for my patients, and they work just as good as my HLG and KingBrite branded boards...

Ebay, Single LM301B 288 / 3K w / reds kit w / meanwell hlg 120 A driver, for $86.39
