seedling with seed shell stuck to it

TBH I have no idea about the perfect depth for seedlings (maybe someone else knows), I usually put them 1/4-1/2" down. Other seeds, like peppers, from what I know I just barely cover with soil.

my 100% germ rate is over, MAYBE.......two fastbuds girl scout cookies autos, first two were fine, as usual - did what I always do (18 hr soak in my chlorine / heavy metal free filtered water, pop in paper towel under coffee cup, let taproot get at least 1/4", then i don't go too deep, just kind of cover it over

i think if you plant shallow you need to keep the moisture up in regular intervals so the shell softens, since you aren't getting as much friction from the soil, these kinda froze up after 2-3 days i was like wtf where they at? did an emergency shell removal and trying to get these puppies going - also gotta make sure the membrane dissolves as well after they show some sign of doing anything - you don't want to over fuck with them either. But the taproot was certainly longer than when i dropped them, so we shall see.

O.k. but from my experience they fall off.I dont touch them at all,I leave the seedlings in a humidome and as they grow the shell falls off.You might have witnessed it but not me.
Does this go for all seeds? Like Autos or s
just photos?? my girl a gsc auto. im on day 2 since she popped up above ground with her helmet still on. She's in a h. dome. Should I be concerned. I was reading the thread and some1 mention about the seed not being deep enough. I know that was the case with this one. Anyway im here now "helmet on". should I give her another day or 2? Or take it off.

I had a piece of the shell on one of my little plants and it was preventing it from surfacing the rockwool. So, I let it just hang in there because I figured it was taking natures course. I finally took it off this morning and was all dead under it. Not sure why this happened. I'm a newbie grower but this is now 3 out of 5 seeds I bought that have failed. I'm obviously doing things wrong.

Will be putting number 4 in rockwool as soon as I see its tap root. (All I can do is try again I guess)
Put them things in water until you see the white tap route start to come out then put it in wet paper towel for A-day or so and then plant it about a quarter inch deep, IN DIRT!!

I just used my own spit to soften up and remove a stuck seed hull yesterday too. I don't have very high hopes, as it will probably be a runt. One of my solo cup contestants too! :(
