Seedling to veg stage how long?

Hi all,

I germinated 4 seeds 2 weeks ago today... 2 fem lowryder and 2 fem swiss cheese.

They are now under a 400w hps about 3.5 feet away from the light and are only getting their second jaggered leaves coming through now.

So i was wondering how long the seedling stage lasted for ? And is where my seedlings are now normal ?

Any help on this would be top of the pops.

Thanks. :-|

i'd say 2 weeks more approx., it might start slow but soon its gonna start exploding with new growth which should give it more energy for more new growth and so on.

Should be fine, just let them grow. 3.5 feet might be a bit far from the light...get them as close as possible without making them uncomfortably hot. Are you growing in soil?

I think a "seedling" is just a recently sprouted plant, like your 2 week old seedling, and there is no defined end to the seedling stage or beginning of the veg stage. It's been vegging since it sprouted (though it was a seedling), and has probably built a fine root structure by now and will start growing soon enough.

from the growfaq....
Cannabis Seedlings
The second pair of leaves begins the seedling stage. They are set opposite each other and usually have a single blade. They differ from the embryonic leaves by their larger size, spearhead shape, and serrated margins. With the next pair of leaves that appears, usually each leaf has three blades and is larger still. A basic pattern has been set. Each new set of leaves will be larger, with a higher number of blades per leaf until, depending on variety, they reach their maximum number, often nine or 11. The seedling stage is completed within four to six weeks.

I'm growing in 100% perlite so it totally hydro.. I heard that the seedling stage can last up to 5 weeks but Mr darkdestruction informs me that it can take up to 6 weeks.. It's my 3rd grow but for some reason it seems to be taking longer than the ones before... When should i start feeding weak nutes ? I gave 1 seedling some this morning and it has made a big differance straight away.

Thoughts anyone ?

they dont all grow at the same speed, each one is different. just be patient bro, once the root system is well established, your plants will take off. And wait a couple more weeks before fertilizing. Wait until the cotyledon leaves fall off. ( the very first rounded ones) and fert at 1/4 strength. I recommend terracyle herb fertilizer. all organic worm poop fertilizer. will never burn your plants.
