Seedling soil recipe

On a budget. Trying to fill one gallons with a proper medium for my well rooted clones. I'm going to the hydro store tomorrow to buy perlite and vermiculite. Can I thereafter, head to home depot and buy their seed starter and mix all three with some EWC? I messed up two rounds of veggong plants because I didn't mix in any perlite or vermiculite into my Kellogg Raised bed soil I bought from home depot, so I am a bit leery about buying brand soils that are not specifically made for cannabis, bit I see that a lot of people here use other soil bases as long as they add more perlite. I was thinking of vegging in those one gallons and transplant them into 5 gallon containersof some good soil, but this time, add enough perlite. I don't want to cut corners. Any advice from some experts would be appreciated.

It is a little tricky potting clones because they can burn easy. I keep a bag of fresh soil just for fresh clones. I have a bag of FoxFarm's Light Warrior for seeds and a cheap Metro Mix for my clones. I have a landscaping store that I go to and Metro-Mix is their cheapest, premium soil. There is absolutely nothing special about this stuff, it is actually weak, that is why I use it for clones... One day, I will be able to use my recycled soil, but until then!

I am not really the guy to be asking. Like I said, I cannot even put my clones into my recycled soil yet because they will die! I am about to dump that soil very soon and start over. I have a patchy yard, I think that I will start working on that lol.

Any seed raising mixture without nutes should be fine. Not sure what you guys have in the states but I just use any old brand I can get from the hardware. As long as it doesn't have any nutes and it is nice and fine, it should be good.

guys, with the promix, do i need to add extra perlite and vermiculite? I am traumatized with not doing so with my soil the last two rounds and ended up having to toss the dirt and plants. I have a soil bin in the backyard, so it should be getting used eventually, but i think i'll have to add lots of perlite. Lesson learned. :(

Okay guys, I ended up taking the advice by my hydro store guy and after me grilling him 21 questions, he convinced me that Roots 707 is acceptable to put rooted clones in. I just put them in 2 nights ago. I'll keep you guys updated on how that goes.
