I have 3 seedlings in fpxfarm ocean forest with half happy frog and about 30 % of perlite. I use 4 24watt cfl 6500k. one looks ok. Im about ten days in. Here are some pictures. Need any helpful advice or theory why 2 of them look dofferent.

That is kind of a hot mix for some babies. They look like they're adapting well though. If the growth slows down and they get brittle then the soil is too hot. Next time let them crack in a peat pellet and plant them in the soil after a few days of growth. I start them in peat pellets and do not plant them until I see roots growing out of the bottom.

Their in jiffy pellets. Then i let them come out soil for few days . i put in soil after root was coming out the bottom of kiffy pellet. I know roots are probably growing to build up the energy for some growth?

I figured they were dry. Felt bottom by holes and stuck finger in top a little. Water them and took them inside under cfls. I forst only watered them around seedling but with mpst the pot dry soil roots tend to spread so it couldve been dry. Hoping so anyways. Going to buy some grow big ff gor veg in a week. Then when glowring starts i figured start toger bloom and big bloom. Cant make grow journal yet havent posted enough

Different phenos, over watering, bad seed, theres plenty of reasons they could look different.

I've never, not one time had a problem with seeds straight into FFOF (Now that I've said this, it'll happen - lmao). A lot of soil growers use Happy Frog to start seeds out in too. *Not "calling you out", just saying. I have read some posts on what you're talking about, but I've read more pertaining to failed rapid rooter/pellets. Everyone does shit different. If it works for you, run with it.
At that stage in their life I would just give them a "small/smaller" amount of water, depending on the heat, once every other day.

lol Better knock on wood. It happened to me but it could have just been a hot batch. I have also got FFOF with low pH before. I no longer use it and just make my own soils.
I never tried Rapid Rooters but Jiffy Pellets work great as long as the taproot finds its way out. I also soak my pellets in pH 6.8-7 well water and a drop of Super Thrive.

I use a FFOF / Light Warrior Mix BUT .........I believe the combination of 2 premium soils are what is the problem. Both can sustain a seedling individually but used together seems TOO HOT.

I use a 50/50 mixing FFOF/Light Warrior in lower bottom 1/3 of container. I add 1 tablespoon of Hapoy Frog Fruit and Flower fertilizer (5-8-4) . Best of all, Happy Frog Fruit & Flower Fertilizer is formulated with premium ingredients like bat guano, kelp meal, bone meal, feather meal and other beneficial microbes to help convert fertilizers into vital plant food. Which will be at base area of container. I just water and let her rip ! This works great for AUTOFLOWERS , but may need a little tweeking for longer run photo seeds like
( Sativas ) or extended veg cycles.

Then I add remaining container space with FFOF ONLY ( some extra perlite - between 20% more ).

Never had a seedling burn , I germ and place into this mix. Once plant starts getting bigger and root mass larger it will hit the lower ( super soil ) mix and can sustain a plant up to week 6 with this. At that time , I add some hydroplex for blooming to push flower building. ( especially if I have a multiple cola plant ). Otherwise it is optional.

Remember to keep things simple. :bigjoint::peace:
