It's up to you. Some people go 18/6 to give the plants a reset, along with your electricity bill.

YOU DECIDE. :)

Both work well - its personal preference

You won't notice a thing on your electrical bill with only a couple CFL's.

thank you GWN and buddyskunk!
also, after 12-14 days under 24/0 on CFL's, it wont hurt or stress the plant if i put it under a 400 watt HPS to 18/6 will it?
i know floresence (sp?) and or MH is ideal, but im pretty much tied down to my money right now....
and would i consider vegetation stage once 18/6 hits? or am i technically vegging right now?

You are in the vegetative stage now & changing the lighting will not stress them.

The only thing I've noticed bad about 24/0 is when I leave my plants under 24/0 longer than a week or so my plants will start stressing and leaves yellowing and such.

At night plants reach for light with the fuels they absorb during the daytime hours... during the day they produce chlorophyll to expand their canopy to take in more light... Put them on 24/0 and the plants will be bushier, put them on 18/6 and they will stretch more. However, I did read in a 420 Mag that a study was done to test the sexing results of the two veg schedules, and 18/6 produced 30% more females than 24/0 with the same strains and under the same conditions. My personal pref is 18/6 because I grow Sea of Green style with training.

THAT is probably due to the fact that they are constantly obtaining and burning fuel without a resting period to feed and reach for light... Most likely it is that you're not giving them enough fuel (nutes, water). Specifically Nitrogen, b/c it is the key driver of vigorous veg growth. A nitrogen deficiency will result in exactly what you described is going 'wrong' with your plants when you have them on 24/0.
