Your seedling is safe from flowering until you go 12/12....even then, it won't flower till it's mature enough to....some even start under 12/12 successfully.

Jquick,

That is the stem sticking up where your first set of real leaves should be.
Looks nothing like pistil.....
no thats what it looks like in the pic beacuse i used a cheap ass camera phone. i had ten plants growing at the time so i know what the stem with set of leaves looks like.(had to down size due to legal reasons) they were DEFINITLY pistols. trust me that was the only one that did that and it lived for a month with zero grow then just died out of nowhere, each plant got the exact same attention. acutally i ended up with two and one of them was a month and a half old and almost 4 feet tall!!!!!!! but ended up being a male:(:(:(

Sometimes if a plant has been vegging for over a month it will start to show its sex but not actually go into flowering stage even with 24/0 light schedule.
hey newb thanks for the reply. i cut the buds off from that blueberry and reveged it under 24/0 and got pretty stoned off the bud i am using t12 lights i have plants in 24/0 light and would like to go to 18/6 but am worried bout them starting to flower like before under 18/6 revege has to hard on the plants

I would save up to at least replace your t12's with t8's or t5's, even cfl's. T12's are very low lumens per watt compared to all other floros. I forget who, but assuming you are in the US, either home depot or lowe's carries the t8 ballasts for half of the other store. Also you can go to the local habitat for humanity for bathroom vanity lights to get the sockets for cfls, unbeleiveably cheap. Just my thoughts though, good luck any happy growing.
P.s. watch close for a few days after switching the lights to insure no flowering, odds are against it but i have had some older plants start to flower when switched to 16/8 (was kinda high thought it was 18/6 whoops) but if you catch it quick it has less neg effect than letting it go.

Your plant needs to be mature before it will flower. a 12/12 light schedule will trigger your plant to flower. 18/6 will be perfect for your vegetative growth
