Seed Phenotype?

17 days from sprout (2 weeks + 3 days) in a 1 gallon pot. Only feed once with 1/4 strength dose. Growing like crazy.

5 nodes excluding the cotyledon, 6th node in the making

5 are thinner and less lateral growth, I suspect males
7 are as fast as the above picture (I think females)
5 are not as vigorous as the above picture but still above average, producing nodes faster than average (could be either male or female)
1 stunted growth, I suspect came from less ideal seed (I used an orthodox germination technique to achieve 100% germination)

Plants just exploded in growth, main stems looks like celery stalk...in a 1 gallon pot.... 3 wks and 2 days from sprout. I didn't do anything special to it. So far, I've only feed it twice at 1/4 dose. Man if I only have the space I'd love to transfer these in 5 gallons bucket and see their potential.

I topped them yesterday and gonna try sexing the cuttings, Ill start training them to maybe 6-8 colas.

This is gonna be a nightmare to maintain :wall:

Most likely root bound too. See the main stems?

Its starting to be a nightmare :wall:

4 weeks from sprout, topped once, multiple colas, already 14 inches

never seen this size of stem in a 1 gallon container at this age

getting crazy, I'm curious too, as to where this is going

4th wk3.JPG

So far, I've only feed it twice at 1/4 dose each time. Otherwise, just mostly ph water.

Thanks

Just measured it again today, already at 17 inches, each has 4-7 potential colas, not counting branches that are sub-par. My whole 2x4 grow area is covered in foliage.

I might reduce the plants to 12, it's just too crowded at this age. If this goes crazy, I might just do a SCROG+SOG style of growing. I can induce flowering now but part of me want to see how it looks with 8 weeks of veg, if I dont run out of room.

5 weeks (35 days) from sprout and these plants have me scratching my head.

I have a 2 foot high screen which I use to control plant height (I dont do SCROG) since I only have about 3 feet high plant limit. Usually if I grow in 1 gallon pots-single cola they would be under my 3 ft height limit. If I grow with 2 gallons pots-multiple colas, I have to bend the plants somewhat to stay under the 3 ft height limit.

These plants on the other hand is a first for me to see multiple colas in 1 gallon pot to pass through my 2 feet screen.

I've only feed them 3 times at 1/4 dose of Lucas Formula, most of the times just plain PH water.

Some of them, I have to bend them to stay under the screen but these plants refused to be tamed. I'm down to 12 plants now. I have to remove 5 plants because I'm running out of space.

Look like I'm gonna run out of squares too. A lot of these branches are 1/4 inch thick and I have to bend a lot of them. These are branches directly from the main stem and not branches of branches. I've counted about 50 of these colas.

I've cleaned the bottom part, I might have to clean it some more this week.

Now, I'm really curious what the roots look like. I see a bunch of them trying to come out and they are like thin spaghetti size roots.

i disagree with a big defoliation but i totally agree with a clean up of the bottom part of the pant under the pot.l believe this clean up avoids mold and stuff from harboring in the layer between the bottom of the foliage and the top of the pots! Timing is everything if getting maximum gram per watt over time, factors like mildew and mold due to season are reduced by keeping 8-12" between the bottom of the pot and canopy bare. but i also dont remove this stuff until the plants are big. I think a lot of it is dependent on your training techniques as well, there are a lot of factors to consider

6 weeks (42 days) from sprout today.

Would love to see these plants go the full 8 weeks of veg but I'm out of width and height space for them, so tomorrow would be flip day (12/12). I have bent and weave most of the branches that pass through the screen at 90 degrees, yet it just keep getting taller.

6 wks 1.JPG

Also cleaned up a lot of stuff under the screen, including subpar branches.

6 wks 2.JPG

Branches just keep getting thicker no matter if they were bent at 90 degrees. I still cant believe that these are growing in 1 gallon pots o_O

6 wks 3.JPG

We'll find out soon enough how they flower. Time to make foot long colas again.

This is my first weird grow in 1 gallon pot

This is how I used to grow in 1 gallon pot

I used the same fertilizer for years. Just added endomycorrhizae in my last few grows. Have some minor adjustments in my grow style. Otherwise, everything is the same. In fact I've just feed these plants 5 times since sprout at 1/4 dose of Lucas Formula.

It could be genetics and heterosis. Only way to find out is repeat my process using different strain.

Here's a sample of roots coming out of the pots

These are huge roots, not those fine root hairs.
