seed germination problem of refrigerated seeds.

Ok i bought like 200 dollar worth of seeds last new year cause of promotion/sales etc. They are from mix breeders and all are well known. When i got the seeds i germinated 6 of them all different strains in coco. All germinated.

After few months summer was coming up so i put them in fridge in side door section. Now after 3 months in the fridge i took out around 9 seeds. Only 2 germinated. Have i destroyed my seeds. I thought it was safe to do so.
before germinating i put them in water for 24 hrs. Then seed cracks and then i put it in coco but it never moves on from there. Im going through monsoon season so humidity is very high.
Please note all seeds are from well known breeders like from top 5 breeders.

I stored the seeds in official packing plus zip lock bags like 3 layers of them with small pack of silica gel. I dont know what i have done wrong.

I doubt the seeds have gone bad just think your technique may be sketch
I have germinated seeds before with no problem in 100 percent coco.
OK my room humidity is around 75 percent. Is this problem right now. I think its overall as coco never gets try. Seed sits in coco for days and then gets rotten but wont germinate.

It's not about wether you have germinated seeds before
Conditions dictate how to germinate
In spring for example the angle of the sun and gravitational pull of the earth has a different effect on seeds than say fall
So even though my seed germination is highest in the spring I can still make it happen
I just cracked a couple dozen seeds I have stored in my refrigerator for years some were quick but some were really slow after they cracked
I added a heat mat and that sped things up
In other words I fooled them a little
So if you wait on putting into medium until tales have extended or at the least add a heat mat your success will improve about 78 f is where mine is set...I hope this helps

This explains why I have had such bad luck with seeds recently, thought they were warm enough but doubting myself now...

We all doubt our selves then we plod forwad my friend, life has no owners manual
Nature is GOD
We all learn from our mistakes, and it was an expensive enough mistake, ive a very similar story to OP, spent over €200 on quality seeds from a reliable source and worst success rate for germination you could imagine. Onwards and upwards

I'm just sad cause I wanted to collect hundreds of seeds. So people collect shoes/boots I think for me its different classic and new cannabis strains. If I cannot use them in 1-year time whats the point.
I am thinking to store all the new seeds in room temperature from now on. I think germination rate will drop but not this much.

Stop floating them in water for 24 hours 1 hr. is enough, or at least take them out when they sink cuz you're possibly drowning them, somebody else will have to talk to you about starting them in cocoa, but I wouldn't use it
