SEED GERMINATION OPINIONS

I am waiting on some blue widow seeds from Dinafem. I plan on soaking them in distilled water ph 5.5 for a day. Then will put in Promix Seedling mix in little pots in a dome tray with heat mat underneath. Temp will be about 80F. I put a zip lock bag over the little pots of soil to help keep from drying out when I am at work. Will continue to use distilled water until about 2 wks old. What do you guys think?

That sounds like a well researched opinion, People go both ways when it comes to soaking vs not / paper towel / just plant ect. keep an eye out for when they need food since you are going soiless just be careful not to over think it and you will be fine.

I don't know much about dome trays but form what I've read there are many ways to germ a seed. Some tips I can give you is you don't want to drown your seed, move the seedling too rough or have it exposed to a lot of heat.

I'm waiting on seeds too, I'm just going to leave the seed over night in a shot glass (no longer then 24 hours submerged) then once it sprouts I'm going to plant it straight into the final pot (3gallon)

So far I've tried the paper towel, germ in rock wool, and just put it in the medium, they have all worked fine so far, but once you are in your medium just be patient and don't disturb them anymore, they will pop up when they are ready

Just put it into the damp promix. You don't need to pH the water, you could use tap water, you don't need a dome, you don't need a plastic bag, you don't need a heating mat, lol.

Just get promix damp, make a 1/2" hole, drop it in and cover it with promix, and leave it alone. It'll pop in about 3 to 4 days...

OP there are several methods, with popping straight into soil being the easiest. Seeds need warmth, moisture, and light (as soon as possible) after breaking ground.

The extra steps can't hurt, you have a good plan stick with it. The warmth from a heat mat makes the soil nice and warm, and the extra humidity from a dome keeps em warm too. They need to breathe though so some holes, not so much warmth or moisture retention that water is dripping from the dome. And soaking for a few hours is fine. Shot glass of distilled is fine, no need to PH but can't hurt.
