yeah thats how you want it. thats why i got my combo from htg supply cause at my hydro shop it was double the cost. im happy with what i got from htg supply. make sure the hood and fan are all 6 in cause if not then you'll need to get flange reducers.

and as far as switching in the middle of flowering.."harden off" the plants by introducing them to light little at a time. id start with an hour of it on and gradually move up to 12 hrs. its a huge difference from cfls. and keep it 2-3 ft away to start. rule of thumb is if its too hot for your hand its too hot for the plant.

I'm running the same setup as mango. DR100 and the 6" combo from htg supply. Watch for the fan edges being sharp. I cut the shit out of my finger when I took it out of the box the first time.. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it. It is loud as shit, but I'm going to stick it in the attic with ducts running up there, so hopefully that dampens the noise a bit. I'm using a 600w cool tube as well. My temps run pretty high, but I think its because I haven't gotten my ducts ran up to the attic yet so the air just goes back into the room.

I would run a second fan on the light, or get a little stronger fan if your going to pull through the filter and your hood before blowing out. I have a 170 cfm fan on my filter, and a 400 cfm fan (turned down) on my light hood sucking in fresh air and blowing out into the attic. Many good setups can be found in the grow room section of this forum, mimic one that's working as closely as you can and your guaranteed to have some degree of success! :)
happy growing and God bless.!

My buddy and I run this same exact tent with a 400w MH/HPS 4" air coolable reflector. We use a 6" 435cfm Valueline fan for heat extraction. Temperatures run just a tad over 80, but that's because it's in a little basement closet with the door shut. Definitely go with the 6" fan all day everyday.

I have a DR100 tent / 600w HPS / Air cooled reflector, I haven't run this set up yet and was wondering if using my exhaust fan to pull air through the mesh vents & intake fan vents at the bottom will be enough to keep the temperature controlled without an intake fan to assist?

If you think I'll need an intake fan would a 6" be the perfect size for the DR100 / 600w HPS?

The air cooled reflector will have a 4" fan connected to it with ducting straight into the exhaust fan too..

Cooling a 600 watt light in a DR100 is possible, but not without pretty exact requirements being met, if you can make it happen I'd love to know how and what the ambient temps around the tent were. I ran a 400w in a DR100 through summer and had to have a 8,000 btu AC assisting to even make it work, but my ambient temps were hot too...

Also*I*need*a*good*cheap*oscillating*clip*on*fan*for*the*tent,*what*is*good!!!!!
Bud, here's what you need....

Looking clean so far, rock that DR100!

I'm running a 600 in my dr100 right now, and it basically doesn't ever get over 70 degrees in the room. I have a cool tube, 450cfm fan, and I run it to the attic. I keep my house at 65 degrees most of the time. (it's just me here, and I'm trying to be efficient.)
