Second Opinions - Magnesium or Something Else?

She's been bugging me for a while. I'm sort of thinking Magnesium but I'm a little iffy... maybe just been looking at her for too long.

I thought it might be Ph sensitive so I tried adjustive Ph by 0.1-0.2 points down from 5.9PH. Tried feeding 5.8 for a few feedings, and 5.7 as well.

currently feeding GH: Silica, CalMag, Micro, Grow, Bloom
Ph: 5.9
PPM: ~900
Tap water thats ~300PPM.

CalMag dosage is 5ml/Gallon.
Medium is Hempy, 100% Perlite.

Also noticed on of the top fan leaves twisted. Roots seem fine. Also threw some bennies down her.

She is well into veg 6+ weeks. Tiny container (less than 0.5gallon). Other strains in the same space with the same nutrients are doing fine.

Check for bugs. Seems like everyone is going through micro mite hell lately. You need a pocket microscope to detect these, at least 60x. Your symptoms look exactly like broad mites: twisted leathery top leaves, yellow to brown to black and crispy bottoms.

Here's some Macro's. I did just spray water twice (foilar with epsom salt and light nutrient solution), once before these picture were taken. Those white specks do not look like they move in the microscope.

Could definitely use second opinions. Leaf damage has seems to have stopped since spraying, but leaves are a little more twisted up top.

First picks to me, look calcium, magnesium, or potassium deficient. Or a combination.

I understand you're supplementing calmag, so doubtful it's deficient.
Likely isn't a potassium deficiency either.

Tbh man, i think it might be a ph lockout.
This particular plant might love it's cal, mag and potassium.
I'd try raising the ph a touch, and see how it responds. 6.1, 6.2 somewhere around there.
Cal, mag, and potassium will be more available in that region.

:leaf:

Edit: could even be a little root bound, if i'm reading right, and it's a 0.5 gallon hempy.

Can you zoom in more on the white specks? Looks suspiciously like broad mites. They don't move fast at all, but at higher magnification you can see their little appendages flailing.
Tis the season for bugs, eh? Lot of posts with bugs.

Here's some more pics. They're sort of the same though. The ones with circles are a 100x handheld scope. The other ones are 60-250X scope. And regular pic of the whole plant.

It could be root bound.... I didn't know it could cause that severity of symptoms?

There's a little bit of algae on top of the perlite, but I don't think that would be causing this much of a problem?

They don't look like bugs Thankfully! I was worried they might be eggs, but I don't think so? (I'm not completely sure.) They wouldn't be that sporadically all over if they were eggs right?

Could those pearl like spots just be water molecules or Epsom salts? Or?.....

i think it's your tiny container...you can only grow so many roots in a small container, if the top of the plant outgrows the roots, they CAN'T keep up...the plant will have no choice but to start cannibalizing itself, no matter how much you feed it. it just doesn't have the physical network to pick up more than a certain amount of nutes.

Ah, okay! Thanks! I appreciate your knowledge!

I will try to get them repotted asap and report back!

Super Glad it's not Bugs! (EW! lol)

don't take anything i say as written in stone, there are several people around here more knowledgeable than me, try it and if it doesn't seem to be helping let us know, i'll holler for help from some of those wiser than myself...there are a depressing number of them....

Wow, well you learn something new everyday lol.

She was completely root-bound. Health white thick roots, but just white roots, on top of white roots thickly condensed!

Less than 24 hours later, twisting has stopped, and nute burn like symptoms have seem to stop to! ..interesting! =D
