Second grow will do a journal this time round

looks good, you're gonna be bored for a month now. I'd toss some crates under those smaller ones to get everything as close to the light as possible. Lumens go down by A LOT every inch further away from the bulb you get. More lumens=bigger/tighter flowers....thats why cfl's grow garbage. Here's a quote from a thread i copied not sure if the numbers are right but its the correct idea.
"According to Jorge Cervantes a 400W HPS puts out 50,000 lumens at one foot and at two feet it puts out 12,500 lumens."
The plant basically "eats" the lumens and they are way hungrier than that 400w can put out, especially at the distance the small one is at. You're not air cooled but you can probably have everything about a foot away with no heat problems and max lumens. You can hold your hand underneath the lamp to get an idea of where the too hot zone is.

Just don't get too close, I have no experience with non air cooled, I use 3 600's that are glass sealed and have air pumping through them at a very high rate. That reflector of your looks like an antique...lol. I go about 5-6 inches above the tops. A foot is a guess for you, may be closer or further. The leaves will start to twist if too close or in extreme cases burn. also the flower would start to bleach (tips turning white) if too close. That plant will basically speak to you, you just have to figure out what its saying. True with watering, nutes, air, light, etc.... And all strains want something a little different though, one strain may explode under 1800 ppm nutes where another one is burning. Examples, blue dream gets botrytis at low humidity, og kush gets powdery mildew ALWAYS, my purple trainwreck has tips burning at 1350ppm when everything else is fine....you get the idea.
The light distance will be a function your light/reflector setup, temp in the room, air flow and strain. So when you read that a 400w needs to be "X" inches away, it kind of meaningless. the correct distance is as close as you can get it without it being too close. Sounds cryptic, huh?

as always it sounds awesomely complicated but i am grateful for the advice. i will give them a day propped up and keep a close eye on them now i have implemented some changes to their environment.

so far they are responding well to the biobiz bloom nutes so fingers crossed its plain sailing from here - as if :)

They are looking great thanks
I am waiting for a new gfx card for my pc at the moment so my machine is not up and running at the min but I will try And get some more pics on asap
Thanks for keeping up with this grow
