Second day of flower

Hey all I have a Q: I'm using 1000w hps and my room is 9'2"x11'3" and I was thinking about adding my two other 600w on each side of the 1000w any suggestions I don't want to over kill it but want the best results as possible p.s I don't care about the cost of power

I would toss both up fairly big room your looking for50 w per square foot of room.

i would add them too, your plants look stretchy

You are at 21.5 w/sq. ft. with three HID lights. Those lights would cover about 1/2 the room (50 sq. ft.) with the proper light intensity. But if you wanted to flower the entire 104 square foot, you should double that 2,200 to 4,500 watts = 41.3 w/sq. ft.

Ok I've read and heard dif heights you should have lights from the plants what's anyone on here suggestions?

You're almost overkill now with a 1000W for those fairly spindly plants.

Move them closer together, get some bamboo stakes ready to hold up those branches in later flower and you should have topped them a while ago. You're going to have a lot of stretch so be prepared to bend some tops so the light doesn't fry them.

The light doesn't have to be directly overhead either so depending on the reflector you are using a different configuration may work better.

Don't think of room size for your watts/sqft calculations but the actual area the plants take up. A reflective curtain can be hung up too so you're bouncing light back to the plants from the open side. Not floor to ceiling but a 3x6' strip of panda film or silver bubble wrap hung so it's open top and bottom but where the light can hit it and be reflected back to the plants. Weights of some kind can be attached at the bottom so the fan isn't whipping it around.

Rather than burn a lot more power think about investing in a light mover. I bought a Light Rail 4.0 a few years ago for $300 and I'm sure it's paid for itself in power savings and will save lots more over the years.

I did this grow almost 3 years ago. 27 plants total. Had 5 tall OG#18 and a Purple Kush in 4gal pots on either side and 10 2.5gal pots in the middle with a few plants in each doing a SoG kind of thing. The 1000W was riding up and down the middle as close as 12" to the tops but never burnt any as it's not staying in one spot very long. Trimming hell ensued!



For a stationary 1000W you want to be at least 18" tho 14" is probably safer. Lot of radiant heat coming off those and a laser thermometer is handy to check leaf temps. Back of the hand check is not very accurate so watch for one on sale. I got mine for $20 at Canadian Tire and see them at that price in their flyers from time to time. Have a small oscillating fan blowing across the tops gently as a strong breeze with the heat can dry them out bad. Leaf edges near the tops will start going taco if it's too warm and dry.

Thank you this is good as it will get can't do to much just had a stroke or a mild heart attack 1 weeks ago so I have to take it easy plus I don't know how much time I have left in my house my dad left me when he passed away and the bank isn't willing to work with me so I dont want to invest too much more in this room and I thought I got rid of the powdery mildew in the 5 months I didn't grow before I started this grow and Im finding spots of it on the lower stuff but not bad the funny this is I've never had powdery mildew in the 24 years that I've grown up untill bout two years ago after this crop I'm doing nothing but seed unless it's a clone that comes from a seed haha

You really ought to know for sure whether it was a stroke or heart related as they are quite different things. I had a minor stroke about 6 years ago a week after my rt. lung collapsed all by itself. The lung did it again almost two years later but no more strokes since. Making sure to eat good fats to lube the blood so it doesn't form a clot in my head again. No serious damage from the stroke other than brain fog and more old fart moments that still persists. Not on any medications for anything.

I used dilute potassium silicate spray on some PM and it got rid of it quick. Was on some plants I rescued from a buddies greenhouse just before freeze-up a couple years ago. Came with free mites and thrips too. Never again! lol

Still a big mortgage on the house? Less than 20G to go here but high interest as I couldn't get the bank to lend me money back when I needed it. Never again for that either.

Thank you for your advice I'm scared to go in an find out what's wrong but I guess I'm going to have to go because I don't want to die
