Second Closet Grow.

Well i didnt clone last night but im definatly hoping on doing it tonight or tomorrow. im going to pick up some jiffy pellets or what ever theyre called and going to use them instead of messing with the aerocloner.
im going to clone 6-8 plants and after 4 weeks im going to begin flowering them with a 400w hps.
once theyre put into flowering im going to take another 6-8 clones and after 4 weeks add them to the flowering room
thus hoping to get 6-8 plants every month.

updates/pics soon

OK, so last night i went to home depot and bought a 72 jiffy clone table that came with 72 peat pelats for $7
while i was there i picked up a bag of soil for $6
i really wish i was doing a hydro grow but i think patience will pay off in the end

I took 8 cuttings last night and theyre looking good .
light went on at 1pm and they seem to be doing fine.

one clone that had been bending over from when it was growing under fan leaves while on the plant is now perfectly straight
hoping for the best!!!!

thats all for now

pics soon

ROOM SETUP[FOR NOW]
polo.jpg

very nice little set up ill be intersted to see how it turns out keep it updated although your plants lok a smiggen streched imo

yeah im not too worried about how stretched these to get because im going to use them as mothers and keep taking clones from them.

The setup right now looks a little ghetto because i have to find a way to keep the clones with range of humidity.
the top part of the dome wont fit over the plants because it will squash em.

so i have the humidifier right up by then and a bowl over them that allows the steam from the humidifier to rise into the bowl.

i have a thermometer inside the bowl to keep track of the temp.

no roots have grown yet i dont think
and i think it may be becaus eof the cloning hormone i have

its a pretty generic brand from home depot and it powder based

i really havnt gotten around to buying a gel or anything but i think it would be a good investment

anywho the light goes on in about an hour and we'll see how theyre doing

for now ima go light it up and do some tattoos
nothing better

if your taking clones you might be doining it alittle early but i my self just took some clones so well see what ahppens and you hshould mind the streching it makes for A healthier plant and B more viable clones

yeah thats true, i should probably pay more attention to that. After all it would only benifit right?

I sometimes thought it may be too early to clone but the cuttings i took seemed to be looking healthy and the stems seemed strong enough to withstand the stress. Most of them had about three nodes on them, im not sure if you can see in the picture. We'll only find out though.

Are you growing hydro or soil?

Both plants were placed in a paper towel on December 14th 2008
-They cracked a day or two later.
-on December 17 i put them into pots and the light cycle started on December 21.

From seed these two plants are 57 days old.

The clones were cut on the 4th of this month making them 4 days old
.

No roots as of today, im really disliking the clone hormone i have.
Its a real bummer.
Shaultz root hormone [home depot]

Last time i used this i didnt have good results. It took some clones 2 weeks to build a root system some longer and some a little less. All and all its not a product i would recommend. Im going to be looking for some better brands

anyone got any in mind?

Try this link. Its rootech cloning gel. You can also find this tuff at a local hydro store, this stuff works miracles
http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=51049

perfect thats just the kind of shit im looking for.

Unfortunatly were I am from [IL] there are no hydro stores anywhere near me.
Probably not for a good 60 miles. It really pisses me off too because its a big part keeping me from beginning a hydro grow.
I mean theres always ordering online but it comes with more of a hassle and waiting.

Id much rather drive to a store and get what i need, when i need it.

So, are you in the middle of a grow? I think ive seen some of your threads before.

yeah check out my sig im growing 2 aurora indicas dwc!

and sometimes ordering online saves a bunch of money, usually hydro stores r 2 expensive

so the cuttings i took are going into the 9th day and still no roots are poking out of the jiffy pellets.
the leaves that had been snipped for the transplant are now turning slightly yellow.
is this normal or should i begin to be worried about the batch of clones
hopefully they begin to root soon
but its been looking more along the bad side than the good :/

Moved the closet setup around a little bit, seems more efficient. No major progress in the clones as of roots. they have been turning slightly yellow on the fan leaves that had been cut.

i broke apart some of the jiffy pellet to see if their was any progress at all and found a tiny root beginning to form. Its taking about as long as my last go at clong making me assume that the shaultz take roo product from home depot is very inneffective. Ieill be ordering a gel before my next batch without a doubt.

another thing.

the plant that had been transplanted late is now slightly bigger but its branching system is tightly packed making me think, if flowered, there will be one big cola. i might experiment with it, or just leave it.

it seemed like because of the late transplant that it may have tried to flower or something because now that its in a bigger pot it has a bunch of little white specs growing on some of the newer smaller fan leaves. im assuming its resin, its weird to me that it has that even though the lights on 18/6. Is it normal?

i ran my fingers across the leaves that had it and it was sticky and smelt like fruity pebbles.
just like the buds were in my previous harvest.

ill get some pics up in an hour or so.

prolly just resin no wories m leaves ae al shinny at new growth shoots and wet to touch sometimes

im maiinly worried about these damn clones a few are starting to get too yellow but they dont look like theyre on the verge of dying...idk maybe just give it a lil time, if not start over right?

Finally a sign of relief.

so the clones didnt grow at all but you can see a tiiiiny bit of new growth coming along with pistols beginning to form, they seem like theyre almost beginning to root!

so today i checked sum of the clones to see if they had roots and about 4 dide one or two had a shitload and really hit me by suprise. the rest didnt have any visible ones yet but theyre geting pistols like the ones with clones so im expecting them soon.

the setup for my clones looks a lil ghetto but its pretty decent with the exception of me needing a new clone gel. i think they would have rooted way faster with different gel in this system because they always stay damp.

they are sitting about a foot under two flours. on top of a little dresser over them is a fishtank thats half on and half off the dresser. this allows the humidifier thats on the floor to let steam travel up and inside the fishtank creating an environment with excessive humidity. under the tray i have a heating pad and in the tray i poured some water so thats its an inch high throughout the tray for extra humidity and watering. Ever since they were placed in here they seemed to grow better.
i have a thermometer inside the fish tank to keep track of things and a fan going to keep things under control.

im going to let them grow for about another 2-4 days depending on how long it takes the other clones to show roots.

after that im going to get some perlite and fill the next pots they will go into [about 6 inches big] and fill the bottoms with about and inch of perlite for better water drainage. then the rest of the pot with potting soil. and place the jiffy pellet in.

i will do this same tech. when it comes time to transplant them into theyre final pots

im going to let these plants grow for about 2-3 weeks once in the 5 in pots and then start flowering. Im going for a kind of sog kind of method allowing the plants to be shorter and packed tighter.

once the flowering cycle beging im removing all veg equiptment and moving it into a new location.

i will begin setup of the flowering room and begin the 8 plants. while these grow for 4 weeks i will:
-contruct new veg room
- take another 8 cuttings
- lets them grow for 4 weeks[from the start of the flowering clones]
-add to flowering room.

at the end of one month into flowering i will have 16 plants in the flowering room
every 4 weeks after this i will be taking out 8 plants and adding 8 new ones

this will allow me to have a havest of 8 pplants[ about a couple ounces]
every month

i will be adding some pics tonight along with a full picture update in a few days

stay tuned if your reading
get high!
stay high!
