how many watts were you running on your last grow? how much did that ppm run you?
thats something I think I need for my next dwc badly
Last grow was over 1000 watts, this grow, just under 960 watts. PPM meter is a Hayley Primo, $30.00 bucks, my PH meter sensor needs to be kept a solution and needs calibration from time to time.

Nice Grow Man !!!!! Plus rep +
Thanks, glad you stopped by

Good move on the PPM meter. IMO they are a must for any grow. By the way your ladies are looking sexy.
Their doing that cola budding/building right now, lots of trichomes, smells devine

Have to add these close-ups I got today during A.M. check, lots of trics at only 30 days into flowering of a 71 day grow, about 1/2 way there in the flowering stage. The dominet Gold is growing some awesome bud/cola/nuggets, the photos do not do it justice. Counted 16 tops w/massive cola growth at least 10-12 inches down the branch. The Blue Widow is now showing her dominance as well. She has at least 9 tops w/cola growth. According to her strain growth spec's she is fattens up the last 2 weeks of flowering, but shows all sorts of promise for some solid bud-nuggets growth 4sure..

Photo 140005 is the Blue Widow, the rest is my Gold

SWEET. very nice, do you check res temps too, or is room temp fine or doesn't matter? rep+
I use an aqua heater, rez. temp stays around 78-82 degrees, room temp with all 14 CFLs burning stays at 85-90 degrees. I use 2 small 8 inch fans to blow room temp air into the closet. Never exceeds 90 degrees, one of the purpose for using high wattage CFLs, no serious heat issues.

I hear ya, I could take photos all day and post them. Tried the mag. glass thingy, did not work for me. My digital has 2 close-up functions and auto focus when you put slight pressure on the button before taking the shot/photo . Digital cameras can get some awesome detail imo...day 31 of flowering :hump:

thoughs are looking mightly sexy ;] how many weeks ?
Thanks

Its about 10 1/2 weeks so far from seed to now. I vegged for only 5 complete weeks, placed them in a 12/12 light schedule then, now they have been in that schedule for 33 days.
My 1st grow I vegged for 9 weeks, flowered for 10 weeks before the harvest or 19 weeks from seed to harvest. But I also changed my light schedule from 12/12 to 14/10 and it made a world of difference in trichome production.. This grow, I'll switch to 14/10 on Christmas weekend...maybe alittle sooner

Photo of 1st grow at 42 days, check the trics...and color

Thanks for the stop by student. As of today, 12/15/10, 76 days into the grow about 11 weeks.

The Blue Widow will fatten up her colas/buds the last 2 weeks of flowering. Photo 19 shows one of the Blue Widows cola/bud that has pistils/flowers going down the stem. Where as the Columbian Gold buds/colas just keeps filling in w/buds, photo 0017 and photo 0018. Both strains are just awesome to grow aero-hydro w/CFLs imo....

The Gold is now releasing a much more pungent sweet smell. The B.W. is also starting her own distinctive smell as well. Both strains are easily to grow...

I read that the female plant will sense the light change, via fall is approaching, so what she does is produce more trichomes so she can become pollenated before the freeze...So i go from 12/12 to 14/10 or 14 hours w/lights off, 10 hours w/lights on. 2 days before I harvest or 48 hours no light at all, then I harvest

is that that 14 hours of darkness or light ? i might try this when i flower , hmmm
14 hours off, 10 hours on. 48 hours before harvest, no lights, she will produce a last effort trichome production and yes it does work.

Not so far, but have read about feminized plants going hermi due to stress. The reason I move the CFLs around is to help ehhance a even grow and try to get the main colas that 360 degree lighting. On this grow I am not going to worry about the undergrow buds or the buds under the main canopy. In fact I may just cut them away so all the main colas can all the nutes and lights.
Right now I have 20 CFLs in that grow area. I added 2 more doubled up Y socket 23 and 26 watters. That takes me well over 1000+watts, over 65,000+ lumen. Also decided to switch to 14/10 this friday instead X-mas weekend. I would like to achieve an increase of the trichome production, some more fattening, cutting back the time should really help...

hey man, you know you dont have to cut off the lower buds, when you harvest you can only harvest the ripe bud on top and leave the bottom half of plant alive and finish flowering the lower buds or revert back to veg. just a suggestion, I know your getting ready for a perpetual grow so you may not have room.

Thanks DaathD3vl, I am going to re-veg the Blue Widow and the dominet C.Gold, not sure what I'll do w/the other 2 Columbian Gold.
On my 1st harvest, the plants were still producing flowers and growth when I had cut. I can see how easily it can be to re-veg them, however I would like to move them into a deeper tote. I can unclamp the lid they currently are in and move them over to a deeper box w/o to much root loss. Do you think I could cut the roots a few inches from the base of the grow-pod/basket w/o killing them?? Cuz that's how I'd really like to move them, either way, do plan to keep them, clone from them.
