sealed room or not

okay guys i have torn my drop ceiling out the basement and the old drywall out after a flood. it is being re-purposed as an expanding grow room. meaning i am starting with 4x8 canopy but one day would like it to be 8x8 and the other side for veg. anyway i keep going in circles on some things. for one is it a mistake to use a room around 8x8 to run a 4x8 canopy if you are gonna cool it as a sealed room. i plan on adding two more 600 watts into the room but tbh idk when because i need to get some electrical upgrades first. atm i use 2x600 hps with air cooled hoods.
so given this room size 8x8 and 2x600watt aircooled hoods with a canopy a little shy of 4x8 how would you design the cooling system. i am not buying new hoods tho. i am not sureif i should use a sealed room or not because of the variable temps in the room around my sealed room. the basement itself is 80+ in summer without central a/c in the house so the room sealed or not need a/c in summer for 3-4 months. the other months tho i feel the basement air in an open vent design wit air cooled hood be perfect and i wont need to run the a/c. should i commit to sealed and a/c year around or go open vent air cool the hoods vent out ceiling and just let the a/c work all day in the summer because it isn't sealed or try and seal the vent sfor those 3-4 months. please help my basement is naked and rdy to be re-built. i am stuck in indecision and on a budget can't afford mistakes and re-tearing down. i plan on re-using a 6k btu haier window unit sealed into my wall and 2x600w hps with air cooled hoods if need be, and as i said the issue is the wide temp range in the surrounding room makes one solution not perfect and idk if i seal the room if i will need a/c even in winter.

You will still need A/C
a dehumidifier produces heat and you won't be able to keep humidity in check without one unless you have A/C I live in Michigan and my A/C runs almost year around

okay, that is kinda what i thought, and exactly the info i was looking for. may i also ask if you find it runs the same amount regardless of the temp outside the room if it is insulated well? and if so should i expect it to run the entire time the lights are on in my set up or will a temp controller save me allot money

I run a sealed co2 room, also in Michigan, and in a basement. My ac runs year round. In winter less often, but still cycles. I'm on a very strict temp, rh, feed, water regimen. As dialed in room should be.

You will need an ac reguardless, and a deheuy. My deheuy spits out 108* air when running

yes, this is what i suspected. it's my first sealed room. i have used tents in thebeginning, outgrew those and went open floor in basement but got real pest and mold issues. i just trashed everything and decided to build a dedicated two rooms. one veg one flower with enough space for two canopies in the flower room so i can run 2 cycles same time, starting with the one canopy to start tho. anyway thanks for the info i wanted to get the a/c right and decide if it is worth it like if other ppl recommend the xtra cost

I rock a portable ac, but i figured out a way to makenit work . Active air dual hose ac suck major ballz. Couldnt even drop 5* in my 80* lung room. Wasye of money. I tried 3 dual hose, all fail.

LG 14k btu single hose is what 8ve used the past 6yrs. Granted i buy a new one every 2 yrs or so.

i am fairly certain i will only need to run my huge dehuey in the lights out time.with the a/c running as often as i suspect it will. also you lost me a bit are you saying a window unit like i have won't work or the portable kind don't?

600 watt footprint is 4' X 4' so 4' X 8' connect your hoods end to end. This will actually extend the effective footprint but not widen it. A single fan on the intake end should handle the 2 lights. The info above on AC and dehumidifiers is to be heeded. If not I can guarantee mold in short order.
